One thing I just realized about our rotation.

We knew there would be 2 games we’d have to use our bullpen a lot, and 1 we’ve been pretty reliably getting 7 from the starter. Keeping Valencius on Saturday breaks up The bullpen games. Pretty smart.
And maybe we have a new closer. I at least like Closer competition. Earn that PT.

He also used the bullpen where several of the guys who pitch will be available later this weekend. I will give Ole Miss coach for the chess play when we brought Davis in. That gave them the lead. I believe it was Davis.

Hopefully Pitzer came in tonight and took some of the pressure off Davis. If this allows Davis to relax a bit and know it's not all on his shoulders and P can keep dealing. Then hopefully we have two great options to lock things down. Honestly don't think Davis is a three inning guy and the pitching changes so quick may have messed with his head a bit in this outing. He'll of a win though by these guys!!!

With Foster throwing like he did tonight it’s amazing how thin we still are without McPherson. But how deep we would be with him

It's almost as if our HC really knows what he's doing.

I think it's possible he knows more about how to manage a pitching staff than all the coaches in the game thread. Well, maybe not more, but at least as much.

We keep hearing about Davis being on the stopper of the year list, but so far I’m not seeing it. He’s not the guy that can come in in the 7th and take it home. Maybe he’s become a situational “get 1-2 outs” type guy.

You talking about Webb or Pitzer? They're both outstanding. Our bullpen was a question mark but its really becoming a +. Miller has the best stuff of the staff and 24 throws the heat and looked good against USM. Late in the year, one ot both will be key contributers.

Dont fool yourself. Charlie got hit hard early, but those darts hit right at guys allowed him the time to settle in and pitch. I hope this is a light switch for him, but i feel like we got lucky. I think he's a next year guy. But hey he did more than we expected and we won.

I suspect Valincius and Sweeney are the plan for tomorrow. Worked really well against Vandy, let’s try it again.
It's always huge to get the first game of the series. I thought we were gonna let it slip away, but we came back and TCB!

It may work out in the long run. Could cause a few others to step up and solidify the staff since they're now getting more innings. So, when McPherson comes back. we'll have even more experience available for the Regionals.

Very impressive come from behind win last night. No doubt BOC calmness standing outside dugout has given our team that same trait and confidence. What a class coach he is!!

Davis is just inconsistent all the way around. I wonder if his mechanics get out of whack and that is his problem. One day, he is 97/98 and you can see the sinker diving hard and he looks the part and then last night, I don’t think I saw anything over 93 and he was wild as hell. He can be really good and really bad.

Watch the interview posted in the video I believe champdawg posted. Oak tells why he pinch hit Chone in that situation.

Yeah, it appears to me that if Chone was close to Milewski's level behind the plate he'd be the starter. They're both RH and there's just a lot less swing and miss in James's game (but less power as well). It's really nice to have the three guys we have to handle catching duties.

Yes. The culture and confidence of this team is just different. That’s on Oak and how he’s already built this program.

I am so impressed with the Parker kid, dude is going to be a huge star. Our pitching has improved every week.
Fun relaxed team to watch.
And he was the “other” Parker twin. How’s you like to go up against those 2 in a HS gsme? And I think Purvis has 1 of the best seniors in Mississippi this year.

We’ve got more really good players than there are spots in the lineup.

We've got conference POY level players (Weyers) just battling to get in the lineup. Bevis is clearly a good baseball player and he's living on the bench. It's an embarrassment of riches. We will need those guys at some point. Just hope they keep good attitudes.

I figured he would be a talented, but raw prospect, like Bauer.

But he's a 17'n stud right now. Looks like all 5 tools at a high level. How 17'n good must his brother be??
