I think Sarr will be on him. We really need more out of Pat Sunday as he was the one negative yesterday

What a game. We ran into the perfect storm and survived. We didn’t play great, or our best game, but we didn’t play terrible either. They were just relentless and hitting everything which usually spells defeat . I don’t know how we won this game . Especially shooting 62% from the foul line . I don’t think the Zone had much of an affect other then giving up 2s from the FT line other than the 3s that were draining. Our defense has been giving up way too many wide open looks all season out there, or half a step slow getting there, and I said a long time ago a team that gets hot out there will beat us. I don’t know how we won this game. We won our usual rebounding margin, per the stats. We are ELITE there. I don’t know why I don’t hear more people talking about that aspect of this team more instead of the defense which isn’t elite in my eyes. The stats are kinda skewed if you’ve watched all the games. They were defiantly testing us on the boards though, the most I’ve seen by a team all year. Maybe the game plan was to attack the paint , but their defense also was not giving us any open looks behind the arc either. Our WILL is all I can come up with that pulled us through in the end. We bulldozed our way into the lane time and time again and finished strong. Nobody will shoot, defend , be as relentless as SJs the rest of the way, and I have a hard time seeing anybody beating us unless we just fall flat on our faces WHILE running into another perfect storm. We are Duke though, everybody gives us their best

The game tomorrow will be Duke’s toughest test of the season. Jon, and up and coming bright coach vs arguably the best coaching job in the business, even though I can’t stand him.

We cannot let what cost Michigan St be what does us in. Which is the inside out with Reed and Karaban.
Multiple guys will guard Karaban. He moves so much. Whoever gets on him can’t come off him to help out on someone else.
I agree with @JimboSlice00 about Pat too. The big fella needs to bring his A game. It will be a huge plus if Sarr and Khamenia score a little. It will keep their defense honest.

I texted my son when we were down ten that we were gonna win. Yes it was partly wishful thinking but somehow it just seems like this team finds a way to win! SJ was as tough as advertised, heck of an effort on their part.

How gritty was Foster?!?!? He put us on his back midway thru the second half. Left it all on the floor and put us in a position to win.

Yes I also had that reaction to Evans step back contested 3 late. It was one of those “NO!!! Oh wait, great shot!” Moments!

Agree on all aspects. UConn is gritty and experienced in the tourney and they have legit outside shooter's with Karaban, Mullins and Ball. They put them up and Reed is down there to rebound and put them back. It'll be our twos vs their three's. Would love to see what we do defensively against them.

Just rewatched highlights with my morning coffee. Jon simply out coached Rick the second half. That dude Prey they had was absolutely rocking us and sat essentially the entire second half, so thanks, Rick!
Yeah I don't know why Pitino didn't play him that much in the second half. That dude was everywhere offensively and defensively

At first I started to disagree with tomorrow’s game being the toughest so far. I’m not sure UCONN is the toughest opponent, I’m worried our guys might be a little tired. That win last night took a lot out of them both physically and emotionally. I hope that Caleb won’t be too sore tomorrow and that Pat is able to play better. Fatigue may be the reason it’s our toughest game. I was super impressed with how hard St John’s played. I think if we play near our best, we win by 8-10 points.

I really don’t like Dan Hurley. I would love to be the team to knock him out. It’s not even the UConn players I don’t like. It’s just Hurley! But agreed they are a tough and experienced team. It will be no easy task. FWIW they did lose to St Johns in February. We can take them if we play our game. I like that we only took 15 or so 3s last night. Feed Cam and attack the rim. Just play Duke basketball and I like our chances.

the way Foster has attacked adversity, bet on himself, and has just Worked while playing for Duke is Inspirational.

I am Very Proud of Caleb. He has Evolved into A Leader.

Yes sir. It’s crazy how much better this team is when Sarr in particular hits those corner threes.

Tomorrow’s game will be a battle or who hits 3’s. Duke can’t go 5-14 for the entire game . Also need more from Sarr and Khamenia. Ball, karaban and Mullins can all shoot the three well. Have to keep a hand in their face . I think you let Cameron get Reed into foul trouble and Brown hold Karaban. Khamenia and Mullins will be a good match up coming off the benches .

Foster put an amazing amount of work into getting back to play in the Tourney ( there is a X post out there)....early mornings, late evenings rehabbing his injury with the staff...so chapeau to him, because without him doing that, we are going home...its the unseen effort and commitment that makes the difference between good and great
