All they did was talk **** about Ben and our roster all year. Told us we couldn't hang in the B1G, told us we wouldn't make the tournament, told us we wouldn't win a tournament game. And in the end, we got further than they have in 26 years. It's absolutely beautiful. The cherry on top would be TJ leaving for another coaching job.
It's been a hell of a week boys!
Are you kidding??Will they be able to handle losing both Matt Campbell and TJ?

This sort of thing happens a lot with Iowa State. Knock off Iowa in one of the big 3 sports, get a nice ranking during the season, then completely fall apart at the end when it matters most.Randy Peterson wrote that this year was the first that ISU beat Iowa in football, men's bb, women's bb and wrestling.
Take a look at how their seasons panned out.
Iowa football with a big bowl victory over an SEC school that almost made the playoffs, 9 wins and ranked. ISU tanked. The coach and entire team abandoned the school and cowered from a bowl game.
Iowa women finished strong ranked in the top ten, bowing out in the round of 32. ISU women tanked, lost in the round of 64 and 1/2 the team is abandoning ship.
Iowa men had a bad year in wrestling but came out for a respectable finish of 4th and a trophy at the NCAA tournament. ISU men laid one of the biggest turds in NCAA wrestling history and totally choked at Nationals.
Iowa men's bb team cobbled, together at the last minute, almost beat the Cyclones in Ames, leading most of the game. They go on to win games in the NCAA tourney against an 8 seed, 1 seed, and a 4th seed for an elite 8 appearance tonight. ISU was a trendy pick early on to win it all, ranked as high as #2 and went on to a 5th seed in the Big 12 tourney. They beat a 15 seed and a 7 seed before getting smoked by a 6 seed in the Sweet 16.
Iowa athletic program is riding high while tears are falling in Ames. "Forever One" slogan in Ames? Hardly. Seems many can't wait to get the hell out of there.
They won the battle but lost the war this year in these sports and future looking brighter for Iowa talent wise and $ situation for Athletic departments.Randy Peterson wrote that this year was the first that ISU beat Iowa in football, men's bb, women's bb and wrestling.

In fairness, their best player was out last night. But hey, others gotta step up. So sad . . .All time 1-7 in sweet 16 and 0 for last 5 since Eustacy’s elite 8 double T in 2000. ISU had the talent last 3 years to make final 4 in my opinion and squandered some golden opportunities with rosters they had.
And missed a bunch of free throws.Got out rebounded bigly
Definitely had the talent the last 3 years to advance past sweet 16.All time 1-7 in sweet 16 and 0 for last 5 since Eustacy’s elite 8 double T in 2000. ISU had the talent last 3 years to make final 4 in my opinion and squandered some golden opportunities with rosters they had.
