There is plenty to criticize about Pope the coach, a man that has spent the majority of his life playing with and coaching young men of all different racial backgrounds, without the cheap shots at his religion. This is going below the belt and delving into some real pathetic and nasty talk on here. Go touch grass if college basketball has you this tore up, my goodness. BTW, on social media I've seen several Mormon men married to women outside of their race. I was raised Baptist and there's problematic aspects to every religion, including my own, if we want to play that game.

Hell naw. You ask any ex Mormon and they’ll tell you they might act nice in front of you but what they say behind your back would make David Duke blush.
No matter how Pope personally feels, he will always be limited in who he is recruiting because some people will not trust Mormons because of their racial biases.

It does cut it when it allows you to determine the likelihood of you getting a recruit. If they won’t honor a timeframe for a commitment then the likelihood of you getting that commitment are slim to none. You know where you stand and can focus attention elsewhere. That’s especially true when your NIL package is higher than your competition. A big bag isn’t open ended. You either want it or you don’t.
If Saunders has no eligibility, I’m not sure why Pope would do this. Is there an expected rule change of some sort?
If the reports were true and he stated he preferred Kansas over KY and was trying to use us as leverage to get more from Kansas I would have publicly stated we were pulling our offer and no longer interested.
It’s why you don’t hire a 51 year old unproven coach. At least with a young coach, he would have some promise.

I will say this and I’m just being honest. As far as recruiting black southern kids, gonna be hard for Mark. Money changes things, but a lot of southern traditional black Christian families are very anti-Mormon. They don’t hate them of course but there are reasons it’s looked at really bad. I could explain it easily but not the place.
I was born and raised in the Deep South. The Mormon faith is a big no no. If Mark recruits the area he will have trouble with those families no questions asked. I have studied a lot of theology it’s part of my background and the Mormon faith is not well viewed in black tradition and there are reasons for it. I’m not getting into it I’m just telling you it’s a real thing.
I understand discontent over Popes coaching performance. But personal attacks on his beliefs and family are not from a UK fan. They’re from trolls.
Also, it's funny you think I'm "making fun" of Jake Feldhaus. It's appr not PC, to correctly point out, that Stokes is a better player than Feldhaus. Hence my sarcastic jokes. Also, you defended Stoops up until the last second. So, you should sit these next few plays out.
