Hopkins will never be the juggernaut it once was. Still a very solid program but a number of other schools have caught up or surpassed them. Their alumni better be prepared to continue funding at a high level or they are going to have bigger problems. They don’t have the football resources other Big Ten programs have access to and that school, outside of the education, is very unattractive. Baltimore is awful, girls are terrible, and there is no real social life to speak of.

Good luck tomorrow, Rutgers.

I haven't been around much lately, but it isn't because of Maryland's lackluster season. If that were the case, I'd have disappeared in October, ha ha. I've been on here once in a while following along. I was actually down in Bowie, Maryland, for the past month but did not make it over to campus for anything.

Tough game last week for the Scarlet Knights, but they showed me something.

Sorry for the thread de-rail. Go Rutgers!

What's funny is if you go on a Lax fan sites with JHU fans, they will act like we've never beat JHU. We're just a slight bump in the road to bigger and better games and we should consider it an honor that we get to play them.
Hopefully their team comes in with that attitude. They do, and they are heading back down 95 with an L

Then they proceeded to get dog walked. They had no business in that tourney.

Was Schaller's injury an ACL? I never saw a follow up.

So they're the lax equivalent of Notre Lame fans.

[Sorry, this was a reply to the Schaller question]

I haven't been on top of it. However, although nobody seems to want to confirm "ACL" its widely acknowledged that he's out for the season.

Spanos will likely be back in the next few weeks, from what I could gather...

Spanos will make the offense hum more. He’s a real missing piece. Schaller is the equivalent on D.

JHU is still stacking top 10 recruiting classes they aren’t going anywhere but up and the school (or Bloomberg) will fund it to the max for eternity unless something goes drastically wrong. They get like 4k+ attendance for games like Cuse. 10k+ when Maryland comes to town. Amazes me with all talent in NJ that RU can’t grab a top class. Leading Edge practices at RU right?

They had top 10 classes going 0-6 in the conference last year including getting smacked around by RU on their home field. We have the goalie and best defenseman from LE next class among others. Bieda has been really good.

Bloomberg doesn’t find athletics. They have a couple of other well heeled alums who do, but they are going to need continue to.

I wouldn’t use last year as any indication of what RU will see this year from JHU. I’m not sure why but JHU only played 5 home games last season. Spent most of the season on road and had lots of injuries. Bloomberg definitely funds athletics although I have no idea how much.

Fair point on the 2027s from LE…Hayes is great pick up. I think the other kid is a d-mid and very athletic plays tough. But RU sits in a hotbed of talent and should be tapping the IL top 100.

No he doesn’t.

They are better this year, but so are we. Should be a good one.

IL top 100 is meaningless to me outside of a few 5* that are obvious. IL ranked Shane Knobloch and Ross Scott 3 * lol. It’s a couple of guys sitting in Baltimore trying to rank the entire country. But if that’s what you are after, the next two classes have more IL stars than any we’ve had. Again meaningless. Show me on a college field.

On paper, this should be an even game.

Hopkins is averaging 12.9 goals per game but giving up 10, for a 2.9 gpg difference.

Rutgers is averaging 12 goals per game but giving up just 9, for a 3.0 gpg difference.

Turn them over riding and convert to goals. Make someone other than Collison and their shooting attackman whose name I can’t recall score. Stay out of the penalty box and win the 50/50 balls.

What’s odd about it? You think New Brunswick has any appeal to anyone other than RU students/alumni and J&J? Let’s be real - It’s not a great college town.
Agree - it's NOT a "great college town" - but it's 100x better than when @Caliknight, myself and others here were in school, and Baltimore is a ******* dump these days. My friends who live down there don't even go to The Inner Harbor anymore.

2-0 as CK (great initials, btw!!!) cranks one into the net at the expiration of RU man-up!

TO"s 4-0 RU
Shots 15-3 RU

...with 3:20 to go in the 1st.

Hopkins nets one 2-1 RU.

Not-for-nothing but I'd like to have a little more of a score advantage than 2-1 right now We DOMINATED that period.

BTW - it's really sad to hear them talk about us never winning a B1G title (regular season nor post-season). Painful. Especially after that FF run in '22.
