Nothing but household-name level studs. Somebody should tell Ben McCollum that the transfer portal, analytics and player development will ensure he never succeeds.

Coach McCollum has four D2 titles. The man can flat out coach. I can't imagine him with a more talented roster. Simply put, he's a proven WINNER.
This kind of just shows even more that pope isn’t that good of a coach

Iowa has a good coach. A good coach can overcome talent deficiencies. We don't have a good coach.
I do think his track record suggests that McCollum can coach, but this same team lost 12 games and finished 9th in the Big 10. I’m not a big fan of evaluating coaches and rosters based on fluke tournament runs, which this appears to be.
I’m no means happy with this seasons results but it’s funny how quickly fans are forgetting Popes first season and how many big time wins he had.

This can't be. I was told on this very board that 4 star recruits are horrendous and should be laughed at.
Talent comes from anywhere, but that doesn't mean you can just sign anyone and it will work. Player evaluation and development is extremely important.
iowa lost 12 games this year. was a 9 seed in the BIG ten tournament, beat maryland but lost to ohio st in its 2nd game. at this point the season was a failure. but congrats on making a run in the NCAAT.
Pope had a lot of good wins last year. He also had a lot of bad losses. Thats par for his career. Not gonna cut it here.

He set a record for most top5-10 wins in first season and if not for all the major injuries that year no telling how far that team goes.
Pope will win 65% or so of the games in any given year. Some a little more. Some a little less.
Next year is a less year. It’s not a stretch to say we will have a losing record next year.
I doubt Pope survives the full season if he’s here. I still have hope that he is not our coach next year.
It’s simply amazing how bad he is.
No one can watch UK play and say they saw a well coached team.
