For me personally, I always thought Tommy Llyod has a ton of potential as becoming a better coach than Mark Few. He can recruit but can't make it passed the Sweet 16. Now he has made his first Elite 8. If they play the way they did against Arkansas, the will beat Purdue by 10+.

Here is what stood out watching that game.

- Drive hard to the basket and are NOT scared of contact.
- Hardly miss layups and can shoot the 10-15 foot jumper efficiently
- 3 Point game is efficient and strategic. Last I looked before I went to bed, I think 3/4 from three?
- Their bigs actually DUNK the damn ball.
- They pass extremely well and trust each other. (Our team did not do this, only once in a while)
- Extremely disciplined, changed defenses to disrupt the athleticism of Arkansas's team and it worked.
- A great mix of elite freshman, and portal guys. Very balanced.

When you watched Arizona last night, they look like they could win it all.

I really hope they at least make a final 4.

Right now based off last night and this season, among the rest of the years, those who want Llyod, I am now right there with you if he makes a final 4. There is no reason why they can't beat Purdue.

Tommy Llyod has been in my Tier 2 of coaches that Kentucky should go after simply because he couldn't get passed a Sweet 16. Right now for me personally, all he needs is a final 4 and then by Kentucky Standards of play, recruiting and consistent tournament wins, I think 4 years of Sweet 16, he's either number 1 or number 2. Barring if UNCheat doesn't get him first.

People say he's a west coast guy. He is indeed. However, many said Golden wouldn't come to Florida because he's a west coast guy even though he did well at San Fran. You never know. I just hope UNCheat doesn't get him.

And to end this thread...

Arizona plays like Kentucky Should.

I want every team to make the final four that has the best chance to beat dook.
Not sure St. John’s can do it tonight, especially if puke gets the whistle they got against TCU.
Izzo has done well against dook in the tourney but not sure out of MSU and UConn who has a better chance to take them out.

Ejifor can guard boozer but if he gets called for two early ones then it’s lights out.

My hatred for puke grows annually. It’s at an all time high. And Scheyer has the most punchable face.

A St. Johns players jersey will scrape Boozer's jersey and they will call it a flagrant 40.

Lloyd isn't gonna leave Arizona for UK. He may win a title this season.

Michigan and Duke both have a key player out I believe.

What we’ve seen the last few years from UConn, Florida, and now this group of Arizona, Michigan, and Duke is that being huge and physical up front is what the college game is all about. Arizona takes about 16 three pointers a game, but they play a frontline that would have made Joe B Hall blush.
Yep, and great guard play just don't have any weaknesses anywhere and I really like their style of play on both sides of the ball. It's March(soon April) and anything can happen but I've followed Az a bit all season and have considered them the best team in the country for pretty much all season. Yes, I have them picked to win it all on my bracket. I just don't think anyone is better. Mich could get them on the right night but the Az guards are better and they have similar size to Mich, which is pretty huge. Again, anything could happen but they're yet to trail at all in the tourney and have been pretty dominant. They really do remind me of our 96 team a lot. I'm a big fan of Lloyd too. He's my first choice if/when we move on from Pope. Since we're out, I'm pulling for them even if it hurts just a little bit after they beat us in 97. I also wouldn't be surprised to see St Johns pull another upset or two, especially in big domes where teams that rely heavily on outside shooting can falter. We'll see. I would like to see Pitino get another one for his swan song.

Only thing I would add is how fast they play and so few turnovers.

I’m a very big fan of Lloyd and what he’s doing there, Zona made a home run hire getting him from Gonzaga.
Few had to chase Lloyd out to take the Arizona job. Lloyd has a signed contract in the Gonzaga’s AD’s desk if he wants to follow Few. He loved Gonzaga. I’d be surprised if he left Arizona but if so he’s back to his first love

Being at a program like Arizona already gives him an advantage over Mark Few because Few's potential is capped by staying at a program like Gonzaga.

I would say Lloyd is definitely UK material. He was responsible for establishing Few's international pipeline, and it's clear he can recruit exceptionally overseas. He does decently enough within the states as well.

I hope he gets to the FF and beyond -- if only for the fact I have a title bet on AZ that will pay me out $550.

Zona looks awesome. So does Michigan. Uconn at their best can be in that mix. Duke is a level below but have the refs.

Final four should be basketball at an extremely high level.
Disagree on UCONN
They’re not even close to the top
They’ll lose tonight
Duke could easily lose tonight too

That's why i said at their best. They're too inconsistent imo but it's only a one game season.

I hope you're right about Duke. I don't think sju has enough shooting, but hopefully theyll be on.

He hits all the areas extremely well...transfers, international, elite HS.
I think if he makes a final four this year or wins it, he's the first, second or third guy you call after Pope's third year. If we get a good AD. If he doesn't go to UNCheat of course.
