Half the fun, twice as toxic.
This place became a shthole in the merger and Matt Jones tried feeding us some junk about moderator costs and server maintenance and blah blah blah.
Having worked with computers (not an IT expert, mind you), the most expensive thing I can think of is when the server room gets too warm and fries all the drives. Mods are pretty much free. Migrations happen cyclically anyway to account for drive wear and age. Updates are pretty much plug and play.
An extra TB of fan bullshittery on this site over the next 10 years isn't going to break the bank. So, yeah. It sucks, and we were told to be happy that we got anything free at all.

Damn right! Absolutely HORRIBLE since the “merger”. The old board was 1,000 times better! Not even debatable.
