Pope, however, sucks, according to a lot of our fans. Pope, had the opposite luck with injuries. Starting point guard, starting center, not available. Somehow, someway, our incompetent Coach, took his short handed team into Fayetteville, and beat the Hall of Fame coach, and his loaded roster. Hmmm.

I’d still trade spots with them. It is what it is, we have the wrong guy, they have the talent to at least do it and Cal seems to have stated doing the things we begged him to do. Zona is better but they had a chance to probably beat everyone but 2-3 teams.

You feel so bad about your backing of Pope you needed to make another thread like this? The seven page one from this morning wasn’t enough to feel good about your take?

I swear some of you guys don’t listen. Nobody wants Cal back. And just because he’s getting beaten up in the Sweet Sixteen doesn’t mean Pope isn’t a **** coach. Good lord.

When he went to Arky I said surely he's gonna win two Elite Eights just on ex-girlfriend energy.

But he's not following through and he doesn't have all that big a window left to do it.

Who cares? Especially about Calipari? Both are awful. And id take Calipari over Pope. This is just more “He’s da anti-calipari”! nonsense.

Arizona is exactly why this isn’t a either Pope
Or Cal thing. Neither should be coaching UK. It should be a competent coach. I’m not saying get Arizona’s coach but he is showing the world neither Cal and Pope are the answer to UK’s problems.

Edit: For the record, living in Phoenix I see a Lot of Arizona’s games. I think they are the best team and win it all.

Exactly. We were right for believing it was time to move on from Cal. We are also right for not wanting Pope.

3 in the top 25. 2 more in the top 50 and 3 more in the top 100. Though Lowe and Quantance didn’t really play.

Either way looking around we still had too much talent to justify being as mediocre as we were by citing talent. It was there.

Player development, roster fit, effort, and scheme were far bigger issues than raw talent imo.
