so, are we all basically saying that ther is hope for the defensive line this year? Just an awful lot of new/young/green faces, is my concern. but this thread gives me hope.

It appears there are quite a few recent records for squat. A least a few are from younger guys like Ries and Fitzgibbon. Maybe we are fine without Doyle.

GOOD LORD!

I told this story on Iowa Rivals; @PinkShizzle might remember :)

There was this guy at my gym who aways wore the same clothes, no matter if it were winter or summer. He was fully covered up; even wore a bandana. Somehow he didn't stink. He was strong af.

One day he went to squat. He was loading up the bar with as many 45 lb plates as it would hold. He had 3 spotters; one behind and one on each end of the bar. He unracked the bar and stepped backward. The 3 spotters were ready! As he started to go down on the squat, the bar snapped in half over his shoulders and plates went flying. Luckily no one got hurt. Needless to say, jaws hit the floor as we all watched.

Iowa rotates D Line heavily, I don’t know the snap counts off the top of my head, nor do I care enough to pay for PFF to get them. But if I had to guess the 4 new starters this year already played 30-40% of the snaps last year. I’m not concerned about DL personally.

You sure you weren't watching the 'mop guy' Youtube videos where he pretends to be cleaning and then throws up some crazy weight and the gym roid dudes are amazed? :)
