I enjoy their trash talk. They are a delusional bunch but overall good peeps.

I didn’t know we were trash talking. Where have you seen this? I swear some of you have PTSD from a couple of football games from the 80s that mean absolutely nothing today. I have nothing but respect for State’s baseball program. Hell, I’m a fan.

No kidding. People need to GTF over the1980s. On the list of PTSD events in Mississippi state football, losing a few games to USM 40 years ago is way down the list. The MSU-USM series in football baseball anything is nothing more or less than a good non conference series vs an in state team. We’re not rivals.
Your fans back then were every bit as bad as Ole Miss fans, and in some ways worse. I never thought much about USM one way or another before those games. I still don't, but the memories come back whenever we play you, which we never should in any sport.

One of my favorite social media photos of USM athletics was of the fan holding the sign "You can't spell E-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-IS without Ls" during the Ellis Johnson era.
They talk litter, not trash. Like a used-up Zyn spit onto the ground. Not much to see.
The score of our loss on March 3 was 7-6.
If you didn't experience the trauma of the 80 and 81 football seasons and those losses to the Nasty Bunch, you can't possibly appreciate the pain.
PTSD is real.
(If John Bond had played that 7-6 game in 81, it would likely have been different. That 81 USM team defeated Florida State and tied Alabama. -- We should've beaten Bama that year, but so sooo many questionable calls - the fix was in. Still hurts.)

Me too. I still have flashbacks to the 1960’s. Today’s fans can’t even imagine what we endured.
Man I’m glad I never saw that. I’ve seen some really bad times. But nothing like those were.
