It seems that the consensus is that Oklahoma State is the new rival…

Let's do this:

LL dec Sprately
Ono dec Rainey
Jax maj. Dec Desmond
Vega dec SVN
Kasak dec Robideau
Mitchell techs anyone
Henckel by dec
Rocco dec Ryder
Barr maj Dec Panda
Ross vs Cole toss up
Just a thought on Vega abd Van Ness. Shayne uses those heavy hands and pace to almost always wear his guys out. He doesn't shoot a head inside single, he shoots that unique hand behind a knee, face in midsection and drives through to a double. Just an opinion but I think Van Ness would beat Vega more often then not.

I was about to say the same thing. SVN has the style to beat Vega. He doesn’t attack below the knee. He rarely even takes a true penetration step. Lots of high doubles and picks where he drives through his opponent. SVN does look lost at times in scrambles though which is where Vega shines. It’s a really interesting matchup but one I like for PSU more than most other options

Van Ness vs Vega...I sure would like Shayne better if he somehow saw him before the NCAAs. To get a feel for him. Honestly I think Vega got so many because they weren't familiar with him. How could they be 😂

Rocco bonuses Ryder. IMO Jax probably techs Desmond. I'm with a few others, Cole has shown that he can beat Ross, and SVN and Vega is the match of the night.

Isn't the big jump between freshman and sophomore year? I'm expecting Cole to AA next year. Carroll was a really good 18 seed that Cole hit fairly early on the backside.

Gone:
Ghadali
Duecet
Trumble
Szuba
Ferrari? Can he really make it another year, lol.
ANyone else of note leaving?

What would the result of a dual be?
Okie St I'll give them 2 at 133 and 141. Penn State should win 125, 149, 157,165,174,184, 197. 285 toss up.
Next year Penn State has to replace 174. So how do they close the gap?
Stall.

Sorry if someone already posted these thoughts but obviously Okie St. is PSU 2.0.
But they seem to have a thing for copying big brother.

Coming out 1 year later to Carters music choice.
The national title speech of you come to Okie st. to win big matches, obviously stealing from Bo.

Then saw a meme of David launching a brownie like Caels cookie( this was a joke meme I think).

I think Cole is near his ceiling (low to mid AA) and Ross near his floor (Mid AA) that's why Cael wanted him so badly. Ross will be a finalist by March which gives Oky St at least 4 of them. We still have a cushion this coming year, but the year after it's getting dicey.

Is this a possibility? Looks like the strongest lineup on paper.

125 Lilledahl
133 Ono
141 Blaze
149 Van Ness
157 James
165 Duke
174 Mesenbrink
187 Welsh
194 Barr
275 Mirasola
I agree that is the best lineup on paper. Maybe Ono and Blaze switch weights? The big questions are if James can make 157 and if Mesenbrink wants to go 174. I just think James, Duke, and Mesenbrink need to be at 157, 165, and 174 in some configuration if we want to put the best lineup on the mat

James
Messenbrink
Duke or Henckel, neither will be small.

To me the key is James. If he can make 157 for a year everything fits a bit better. Still not great but better than if he can’t make 157. If Kasak can’t go then it’s probably Sealey which is very good but not at James level. Having AA level talent 3 deep is wild

Kasak not getting a lot of love around here. James beating him out at 157 is not a given.
I love Tyler and believe in him but I am extremely concerned about his life more than his wrestling career. I don't ever want to see him struggling to walk during a match again. It would be a sad loss if he can't wrestle any longer but I am in favor of that, vs a coma on the mat

Absolutely! Also, we don't want concussions near schools! We don't want concussions sold to children! 👍😉

What information do you have that isn't public knowledge already (trying to get kids to leave, coaches to leave)
Everyone has heard those things which are broad. What was said when it was said who said what to who is way more then he tried taking guys. I know all about what happened and the timelines . So much more went on behind the scenes then he tried taking guys and coaches. It's his job to get guys Cael tried for iowa St guys when he left. Believe me Cael understands that and wouldn't be mad about that . They're both legends in our sport and it's not my place to say anything more then whats already out there

What if we ask you yes-no questions, and then you blink your eyes to answer?

Also, why is your user name co-RBY? Big fan?

Does it really matter? Look forward to their competition in coming years. Who cares if they aren’t getting along although that will only fuel the rivalry even more. DT took three guys who were depth pieces at PSU, Kennedy, and Gilman. That’s the bottom line. Who did Cael take when he came from ISU? His brothers and Cunningham. DT was never at ISU.

Speaking of Gilman, what is his current status with NLWC?

… but wasn’t he going to be? IIRC he was signed, or at least committed… does someone know with certainty?

He signed his national letter of intent with Iowa st and was granted a release.

He couldn't sign another NLI so he was given a financial aid agreement. We then had a new rule shortly after that stating how much a wrestler could be paid for a camp
