Will we ever hear any GOOD news about KY BB again in our lifetime ?

Heavy critics of Pope as a coach and a recruiter, Mitch and Eli, JMI, Jaspers uncle ripping Pope and our fanbase, Assistant Coaches trying to jump ship, Hart the Assistant who is the chief recruiter for Stokes left us for SMU,
The boosters starting to revolt against the administration. I don't even drink but I am about ready to start. Can somebody give me some reason to feel good about the near future of our program ?

Right now the only news I want to hear about is our next AD. Depending on who it is will determine if continuing to support the basketball program is worth it. Hire someone outside of Barnhart’s purview and I can hope for a positive future. Hire one of his lackeys and I give up Kentucky basketball and college sports altogether for as long as I live.

There’s a lot to be negative about but some of it is really going to come down to choice. There’s one way to look at it and then another. I’d probably get bashed for telling you reasons to be optimistic. If you genuinely want to know if there are good reasons to believe, I can help with that 100%. If you’ve made your mind up that you want to be angry, that’s understandable and also a choice. If that’s a conversation you want to have and you really are looking for ways to be optimistic you can start a conversation with me anytime.

Hey my friend, I love the Cats as you do. Sorry if I came off a little unhinged. I am discouraged right but i am certainly in it for the long haul

It depends on your age. I'm 68 and I don't really expect to see another championship. Pope will likely have a worse year next year and then get fired and we'll be looking for a new coach with the JMI anchor around our necks.

68 here too. We’ve been through many cycles of good and bad. Rupp had some so-so years, as did Joe B. But there were always good seasons that followed. I always thought the bottom was Eddie Sutton’s final season and the subsequent probation. But then CM Newton convinced a young Rick Pitino to come to Lexington. And by all measures, those were some really fun years for us. That first year was one of my favorite seasons, despite the 14-14 record.

Tubby’s last few seasons and Billy Clyde’s two years could best be described as root canal basketball. But once again, a coaching change ushered in a run that was every bit as much or more fun than the Pitino years.

Looking at the last 6 seasons, it feels like we are in a funk similar to late-era Tubby/BG period, but with nothing on the immediate horizon to change things. Hopefully, we make all the right decisions in this player purchase cycle and get back on track. We will know soon. At the pace we’re on now, it may be the 2045-46 season before “the assignment“ is completed.

One final thing for you young whipper-snappers: when the good times return, relish every minute of it!

We do not have anymore games, so our injuries will have time to heal!!! That is a positive.

Got to see the CATS play in several Final Fours was in New Orleans in 2012 to see KY. take the Title, glad I got to see that one but I don't have a lot of faith that I'll get to see another one. I think MITCH BARNHART has done more Damage than we realize, he has let our program slip to a level thats going to be hard to rebound from!!!

An ever growing number of BBN is turning woke, and because of that, there’s dwindling demand for excellence around the UK program anymore, and it has taken the form of UK’s administration, and its hiring of Mark Pope!

Folks, this is our “new normal” now, where the social justice warriors of mediocrity are hellbent on turning UK CBB into the next Indiana, and soon we’ll be celebrating seasons where less than 15 losses are great, and Sweet 16’s are essentially a National Championship.

Has nothing to do with that. I’m sure most on here would consider me “Woke” yet I’m still one of the loudest about how negative things have been. Most people I know are in the 20 to 30 range and most agree this isn’t UK basketball.

Pope said on recruiting…’Just hang in there, guys’. He used the word great so let’s see what he brings in. I hope great is not equal to Ferrari. lol

Won in 78. Went 18 years without a title but did go to the FF 2x and the EE a few times. 90's were the gold standard. 2000's not real good. Several 10 loss plus years, couple of S16 and a regional final. 2010-2016- good times but have fallen sub-mediocre since 2018. We went 18 years, 2 years, 14 years between titles since 1978. We haven't been to a FF since 2015 so we're in the valley right now with no mountains in sight.
