You are simply out of touch with reality. Those four coaches have all made title games or won them. Nothing in Popes coaching career suggests he will win here. He had the highest payroll in college basketball last season and we ended with 14 losses.

Florida and Gonzaga had great years. Only 1 team can win a national championship so evaluating that as the ONLY outcome is ridiculous. Florida won the SEC and Kentucky was not good most of the season. So any comparison is a losing proposition.

Correction, Calipari won just one game in 4 years, not 5 years. You can't count the 2019-2020 season since the tournament was canceled.

Calipari has now won 4 NCAAT games and the SECT championship since he left. You can't just compare his last 5 years at UK to Pope's first two at UK. It's not like Cal quit coaching.

Stop comparing Popes first 2 years against Cals last 5. Cal is gone because he was no longer getting the job done, so only a small improvement over Cals worst 5 years isn't a "WIN." Kentuckys expectations aren't to beat Cals last 5 years but to get back to where we belong at the top. This isn't hard to understand, we expect to be Elite and in National Contention on a regular basis. Anything less is not acceptable.
