There are lots of conversations on this forum. Do you think any players or coaches read this stuff?

Are you kidding me?
This is the forum to get the pulse of the hardcore fan.

There is no team in college basketball or any sport at any level that has a forum active like this at all times of the year.

It's been this way for as long as people can remember basketball LOL.

This is actually a fact. This is the number one sports forum in the world and has been for a very long time.

If you're a coach or involved in the sport of basketball and you're not coming by to check the cats illustrated forum then you don't know what the **** you're doing.

The old days you used to be able to keep track of how many people was on the forum at all times. And it was always above a thousand people at any point of any day at any time. I'm sure it's still like that.

We know for a fact that Matt Jones reads it, family members of players read it and some of the other media persons read it. We've been quoted often. Some years ago, MJ even quoted posters on his show using their screen names. Some were furious claiming that they were quoted out of context. I have no idea whether that is true or not because I didn't hear the show. But, we had a LOT of upset posters!

I doubt players and the main coaches are on here reading, if they are, please log off. I would have to assume there are some lower level folks who go through social media, boards, etc to try and get a feel of what the fanbase is thinking. Both Cal and Pope have seemed to address things that typically pop up here.

Lots of former players read this board. There was a time when Brett Bearup (RIP) got after people for saying he was a bust.

I’ve heard Gerald Fitch is a lurker and enjoys getting shout outs, not even kidding.

I think you’d be surprised how many notable alumni read this board if you weren’t already clued in.

Mark Fox. He posts here praising Pope(easy to guess the username) instead of focusing on recruiting and the portal.😃
And isn't it odd that Georgia has been kicking our ***!? Maybe he trusted the wrong guy. How many times would we of played Illinois if he kept Antigua?

I guess he would have helped Cal for Popes Superbowl against Arkansas

I seriously doubt any of the coaches or players read about, know anything or care about this forum.

Who absolutely read this forum: Sportswriters and members of the media. Occasionally a player's parent.

I’d say this ^ is pretty close to accurate. I know some players parents and family ‘occasionally’ come here. There are a few others i.e. Matt Jones that openly respond. I’m sure there are a few more but I’d guess CCC or Pope didn’t / don’t spend time here. Just my opinion.

I doubt any players read the forum(I hope not) and I doubt any of our coaches do either but...they ALL know people who do read this or other forums. If 1/10 Kentucky fans read or post on forums then 1/10 Kentucky fans the coaches and players meet or interact with read or post on forums.

Posters furious about being quoted out of context is hilarious.

I am on FB all the time. I run 3 business accounts. I have never seen this forum pop up on FB lol.

Classic you can't find proof and they laugh at someone one questioning you. Just classic.
I'm not going to take the time to prove you something so basic. I made a small statement. You don't believe me that's fine. You know how FB works apparently. I can't log in and find the exact same thing I seen two months ago scrolling.

This is the problem with the fan base......"prove it"

Ok sir say it's not on Facebook...I'm just making **** up and you're correct....quit being lame

You're the one being lame because the burden of proof is on you. Now go away.

Why are you wanting me to prove something that is common knowledge. It's odd. Like seriously do you not believe some stuff from here doesn't get on FB sometimes? The way everything is connected today?

I will reactivate my FB and try to find a couple things just for you specifically dudeeee. Lol. It's not a burden. Fanbase just has a bunch of dorks like the head coach .

Mark Pope reads it because I’ve I’ve heard him make statements that only you can find on this forum as a matter of fact, the other day on that when you did that on Monday, the season ending callin show he went on that four minute diatribe and there were elements that have come from one place. The entire comparison of popes first two years compared to cals last two that originated right here. That terrible comp started with a pope fan here. I feel like I felt like Pope read it here. I know he’s all over the forms he just scrolls and reads. I’m absolutely 100% convinced.

I'm in the group "Pope's Cats" on FB, I joined as soon as it started last year, I didn't see the comparison one you're talking about but I can tell you this, there's like 10 or more different posts on there started every single day, with over 200 comments most of the time. There could've been the same comparison on there trust me. I bet I could go on there right now & there would be like 5 different ones, it's crazy some of the **** they post.

This board only represents a small section of the fanbase which is often called hardcore or "over the top". The largest segment of this fanbase (as with any fanbase) is what you would refer to as "casual".

i don't know anyone in real life that is as fanatical as anyone here, and I was born and raised in Lexington.

This forum is a shell of its former self 20 years ago. It’s not important at all to anyone but those who post here.

I doubt recruits and players even know what the hell a forum is.

This is likely a bunch of 40-80 year olds and. not much else.

There was a poll not that long ago that I think proves your theory.
