Best way to be is don’t care. Say what you want and if someone even attacks, don’t let them upset you. Some people just show up to do that, so don’t let them win. Never take this site serious. You’d be amazed how many fans from other schools show up here just to talk crap as well.
I wish I didn’t take things personally but I do. Part of it is I’m a kind soul. Even though I like to debate, I don’t like the antagonistic stuff.

You’d have to understand why I’m on edge. Being honest on here results in all kinds of ridicule all the time. Really gets f***ing old. Especially when the people you’re replying to have no idea what your very basic points are lol. Anything short of fire Pope right this second is full on attack-worthy on here. Never got that from you though to be fair.
Man when Dan Issel and Mashburn are critical of Pope and what's going on here and you disagree then you are on the wrong side of the argument. If you get on the right side you wouldn't be on edge. If I can be honest with you, Pope doesn't deserve this job. He never did. Taking up for him now just makes you look stupid. I told my mom the same thing. So don't take anything personal. If you do and say stupid things you look stupid whether you are somebody's mother or just some random dude.

We all take things personally when we shouldn’t. This place brings out the worst in many of us. I had 4 surgeries since Nov. and my father passed in Feb. Too much time on my hands feeling miserable. Finally back to work and feeling good again (today) Being away from my peers and coworkers was detrimental to say the least.

I am and have been critical of Pope since the first game of the season. All year and in great detail. If you want a link I’ll send you plenty. Y’all just have your weapons up to fight the “Popeists.” I still hold the view I held then — Pope is flawed but I’m hoping it works out.
If you get on the right side you wouldn't be on edge. If I can be honest with you, Pope doesn't deserve this job. He never did.
Everybody agrees Pope didn’t deserve the job. I’ve said that myself a hundred million times and so have many of the other “Pope supporters”

Whatever.

I think it looks even more stupid to not understand the position of the person you’re arguing with. Let me show you something. I’ll be back to post you some links to a few things.

EDIT: I’ll add more tomorrow but this is an autopsy I did right after the Louisville game. Already had diagnosed in game one most of the things y’all been complaining about since then. I didn’t get it from Matt Jones or a talking point on a podcast. I got it from my own analysis and you’ll see in the thread it’s me having to argue with some of the other ardent “Popeists.” I’ve always been critical, but fair and supportive of Pope (other than a regrettable one week span where I called for his job and felt guilty over it.)

I’m sorry Ortho about your father. Mine passed Big Blue Madness 2024 so I know too how hard returning to any sense of normalcy is after that.

You need a NBA coach and GM to run a successful CBB program nowadays, can anyone imagine Pope running ANY NBA franchise as a coach or GM?

Exactly 💯💯

People call me out all the time, and even when I sound hateful responding, I’m not. I just say what I think. Last thread I made, I shared an espn article and titled the thread the exact same as the article. Some people didn’t even read the article and started raising hell over my thread title. It didn’t bother me any, because if they had looked at the article they would have understood. I pointed it out to the ones that did that and got no response. Life’s to short to let people get to you like that. Enjoy yourself on here and don’t worry about the rest of it

Miserable basketball days ahead probably worse than cals last few years. It will be a long time before us fans get to see the ky basketball we crave.

No. And after his “ progress” explanation I dont think he has moral grounds to be our coach anymore.

Not really. Still love him as a person. Love a lot of people I don't think are cut out for Head Coach of The University of Kentucky Wildcats.

I will support him in the sense that I hope he is able to continue making improvements. I see what he is trying to do, and I think any die-hard Cat can who remembers the 1990s will appreciate his efforts. With the right staff surrounding him, and him making personal improvements, things could be looking up. Him calling out Yaxel is a step in the right direction.

A step in the right direction is to decrease the reliance on analytics, and owning up that he failed this season and that he understands he has not met expectations. Also getting good players in the portal and Stokes. Next year, is his make or break year. I just hope the new AD understands that if we have the same year next year as this year, he can no longer continue to be the coach.

I really wish Mark didn’t compare his 2 years to Cal's last 4 on his radio show. That was a terrible idea.

Also, all year long, he said "we will not fail" and "this team is going to be great" and "we're going to be so much better". Well, none of those things happened and instead of owning up to those failures, he doubled down and tried to put a dress on the turd.

His promises and beliefs are all hollow now. I can no longer trust him to deliver on his promises.

Now, last night, he said he liked where they were at with recruiting. How am I supposed to believe that? I can't. He has to stop telling us what we want to hear, nobody believes him now, because it's all bullsh*t.

It’s just another red flag that he needs to fix. These red flags are really piling up. He needs a PR manager, badly.

My support is with KY basketball not one individual coach. Coaches come and go, the program has had seven since I have been alive. Pope will either succeed and that’s great for the program. Or he won’t and we will have our eighth Coach since I’ve been alive. I really don’t care who is coaching the team. I just care whether they succeed or don’t succeed.

It’s kind of like hiring a plumber. I really don’t care who the plumber is. Can you unclog my toilet or not? If you can’t, I’ll call someone else.
