I don’t know what’s going on in Pope’s head. Looking at the ex-Mormon subreddit, I’ve noticed a lot of people seem to think that Mormons commonly have a toxic positivity trait and I feel like I’m starting to connect the dots with Pope’s mindset. Dude is incapable of seeing the big picture, blinded by positivity.

When I waited til after the North Carolina central game. I wanted my sons to get to see the players up close and talk to them. Mark Pope signed every autograph after the game and talked to everyone.
Very nice guy and when I spoke to him I told him that I watched the 96 team with my dad as a child and now here I am with my children.
I told him that I want them to be on the edge of their seat someday watching the cats and being excited about the program like I was.
We are currently not there of course I was thinking to myself but Pope said oh they will be.
We are going to come together and turn this thing around is what he said. Now to bottle up this season and what it was I feel like some games brought us a little hope but it was quickly erased with horrible beatdowns.
We never went out and destroyed an opponent. Every game felt like it could be close. Just a horrible season and bad time to be a Kentucky fan.
Pope has got to go to work now and get 2 Owehs, a strong legit pg that can play both ways, a rim protector big that can make decisions, and 2 snipers from the perimeter. If he doesn’t start recruiting the best we will never be Kentucky again. This whole I want players that wanna play for the tradition isn’t gonna work. Get players that wanna f ing win and determined to put in the work to get better.

Beginning with Pope’s presser at Rupp (go back and watch it), all he has done is let his mouth write check after check after check after check, that his @$$ can’t cash!

Also, he likes to kick the can down the road with his post game statements, pushing his words and promises little further away with each word salad, and the fans still supporting him are the ones who his BS has worked on, and they continue because they like rooting for the underdog.

Most real, passionate, knowledgeable fans of the program, saw through his shtick about half way through last season, and it’s not going to change.

Reddit sucks, but he is very toxic in positivity. I think Mormons are just the type of people Ho are like that. Nothing wrong with being happy go lucky all the time but it doesn’t work in sports to motivate. It comes across as fake i’d say.

You guys are right -- at the beginning of the season, he should have said: "We will fail." And, yes, we should criticize his faith, because being positive is toxic.

What we've discovered is that he is a master at moving the goalposts. That has now been exposed and he's got nowhere else to hide. Gotta win now. That is the only way out of this mess he's created for himself.

Mark speaks the truth. He said this team was on an epic journey. Was he not correct?

I watched pitino scream and his team and drop 7 F bombs in that asss in 5 minutes during a speech at halftime.

Imagine the mindset of a Kentucky fan that doesn’t want that, and instead wants to hear Mark Pope. Weak MF’s.
