Didn’t think it was true at the time but we also have posters that were acting like anything Negative Mark Pope couldn’t be true. Some still deny we spent around 22 million in NIL

When all of this NIL stuff started I thought it was just going to allow guys to sign endorsement deals and be able to make money off of their name .

He probably didn’t address it fully at the time because we had games to play . Last thing he need is to look like he isn’t focused on the task at hand .

Well he’s probably realizing he’s goofy and nobody wants to play with him so he has to.
Nine million dollars is more than the top bids for Dysbanta and Peterson so, even if UK offered more money than Michigan, Yaxel is lying about the amount. I honestly don't know why people exaggerate or lie about things like that but I'd never trust his word on anything.
Everybody thought he was lying about the amount but didn't want to call it out publicly and you can't blame anybody for that...why take a chance of being sued when you have no dog in the fight.
Pope needs too much media training imo. Super easy to say it’s not true but compliment Yaxel as a player. He’s spoken on it twice now and neither time took that easy path.
He's a good coach, just not at the level we were known for years ago. He's a strong leader off the court.

Goodman was the first to report it, and he is close to Pope. 5 months later, Mark has yet to dispute it. Seems pretty obvious to anyone with a brain.

I would assume if it were true, he would be cautious because there has to be some sort of proof. A text or letter or something to prove it true. So him saying 100% false is pretty strong and I believe him. Nobody is turning down 7-9 million.
All I am saying is you have no proof but are treating it as fact. That would hold up in 0 courts. Bury your own head of you want to pretend to be that gullible. Show me proof. Never believe anything when someone says I estimate it to be this. What is this based on? What is the source? Where is the documentation? It's true because Goodman said it, is laughable.
People have fixated on the number offered and not the rest of what he said. He said Pope only talked about how much money he would make. Said Dusty May talked about how he’d develop his game. One guy talked cash and one guy talked ball. A dude that had to go play juco ball probably isn’t the best with numbers, so I’m not hung up on the figures he put out so much as the overall context.
all the people rushing to defend Pope haven’t once answered what would motivate a guy to bury him like Yaxel did. Maybe, JUST MAYBE, Pope rubs lots of people the wrong way and that is part of why he’s a total failure 72 games into his tenure.
People make stuff like this up ALL the time. Did you know that if all the people who claimed to have marched with Dr. King in Alabama did march there would have been 10 times the people in the march? Did you know that the number of people who say in a survey that they attend church weekly actually did church attendance would be 400% higher overall? Hillary Clinton claimed to have dodged bullets on a runway. Brian Williams claimed his helicopter was caught in enemy fire.
I could name a lot more incidents of people lying for no real reason except to add drama or get attention but you get the point. I even know on a personal level of a case in which a business man pledged a million dollars to a non-profit and received a lot of publicity and then it was discovered that the guy was completely broke.
