A lot of that was due to some early season losses which the ACC under performed. But the league grew as the season went along, and teams were peaking at the right time. Would be nice to have an ACC team in the final four, but the disparity between the number one seeds and the rest is astronomical.

Great for the ACC, as stated anyone but Dook. Congrats to UVA, and hopefully ND can pull the upset. Do not expect Syracuse to upset UCONN but if history repeats itself they could give them a good game.
Go Cuse!

Also- other way you can look at it is….. load up on cupcakes like lots of BIG 10 and SEC teams do and pad your NET for quad 1 opportunities in conf. These are non-conf SOS rankings and would be a Q1 win anywhere. Edit- added other conf too

-#159 Ole Miss
-#180 Minnesota
-#219 Michigan State
-#235 Washington

These would be a Q1 win on the road:
-#201 Alabama
-#212 Oklahoma State
-#225 Iowa State
-#243 Nebraska
-#281 Oregon
-#301 Illinois
-#309 Mississippi State
-#333 UGA

ND has a comfortable lead up 16 with 1 min left

So let's make it 13-3 for the ACC with Cuse vs UConn ( 😁 ) the only round 2 game remaining tonight. The ACC has 5 Sweet Sixteen teams (6 if Cuse pulls off a miracle)

The ACC won the only three upsets in the tourney so far (at least two seeding ranks between the two teams).

Hopefully, this will be the last year for Geno, but yet he has an assistant who's doing pretty well at Vanderbilt, who could step in after he retires.

Azzi Fudd looking every bit the phenom she was in HS pre injury. She has such a quick release.

I don't think UNC loses like Syracuse though. That was ugly

Hard to imagine a 67-12 lead. I really hope the Heels play enough to give them some decent competition. Might play a really good name and still lose by 25.

The ACC has 5 teams in the sweet sixteen. This makes our conference look very good, and our teams beat some of them at their place. Way to represent the conference. I am so proud of all the ACC teams that will be moving on. Go Heels and Go ACC!

Exactly. And I’ve been joking all season that we shouldn’t be surprised if Blakes and Galvan follow her. With those two, SS, and Quinonez (not to mention that incoming top post recruit), they’d pretty much have the next couple of NCs on lock.

Agree. It's the number one seeds and everyone else.

Yet, anything is possible. All it takes in one bad game, 1.

Putting the UCONN victory margin over Syracuse in perspective they were playing at home, and no way will any team be able to keep up. The game against Carolina will be on a neutral court, which most of the fans wants an upset, which could be an advantage for Carolina. Then on the other hand, there are a lot of UCONN fans out there, and they travel well.
If we are able to keep the game close and only lose by a single digit, it will be statement for the program considering we are one of the youngest teams in the nation.

Game times have been posted on the NCAA women's bracket. Our game will start 30 minutes after the conclusion of ND/Vandy which starts at 2:30; so the earliest possible start time for us will be 5:00 PM Friday 27 March.

Let's Go Tar Heels!!

No that did not. Geno is smart. It took his starters out after the game was pretty much decided and rested them for our game coming up on Friday. He played his bench after the game was decided. That is what great teams do.

The UNC-UConn spread is currently at 25.5. Btw, all of the ACC teams in the S16 are underdogs.

I think we are going to give them a competitive game. Just like when we played SC two years in a row in the sweet 16 with DK and company. We were the only team who did not get blown out by SC and we lost by single digits. The other teams got blown out by SC. Go Heels!

THIS is college basketball in 2026. Head scratching portal entries are now the norm. A lot of these young people are chasing “the bag.” I promise you every top tier player in wcbb has a $$$ offer in their DMs. I hate it but this is where things are until a governing body takes action.

Not sure if Carolina recruited Zamareya that hard or not, since we had RK and Lanie Grant to play PG when she came out of HS?

LG is not a true point guard. She is more of a 2 guard. She can run the point but she is not as affective at the point. Case in point. Against Maryland, she tried to run the point and get ripped and the girl from Maryland score a layup. CB then immediately put IN in to run the point so that EA could get a break,. Zam Jones is a true and natural point guard. As I stated before, depending on RK's health, if she cannot come back at 100% then CB and staff have to consider pursuing her and she is a local young lady.

I agree that Grant is not a PG. But with Aarnisalo returning, the #1 PG in the county coming in and a former 2nd team All-ACC player trying to recover from injury, this is the position of least need on this team. Throw in Barker, our emergency PG, and we have 4 of our 15 schollies devoted to this position.

I do not have an issue with securing a clear back-up PG for insurance if we know that Kelly simply will not reach 100%. That player would be inexpensive and would not run off existing players. But securing Zam Jones would, hypothetically, probably cost more that retaining Aarnisalo, and by taking her it would surely run off Aarnisalo.

It is not worth it. Yes, we might potentially see marginal improvement at the position (that is debatable though) but that means we are choosing to mess with team chemistry for small gains and it means we are devoting resources to the position with the least need on the team when we could be pooling resources for a star player (significantly better than Zam Jones) at another position where there is no established starter and no A-A hS player coming in.
