And wouldn’t be playing for Huskers if they had anyone, anyone else. He had a miserable night with turnovers, fouls and missed shots.Fred needs to hit the portal after the season and get some rebounders and an elite point guard. Feels like we've overachieved, don't think Jacobson would play for any other sweet 16 team.
Rice was just named Mr basketball in Iowa
Two of the best point guards we faced this year were true freshmen. That's great, but we if we retain Sandfort, Frager, Berke, Uggy, Curtis, Essegian, then we need an experienced PG. That would be a dangerous core when paired with a good PG.
Boyd was a freshman. Two of the best point guards we faced this year were true freshmen.
hmmm, I gotta admit I thought he was fair and very complimentary throughout both gamesNice interview, but the guy who called the game must have been a different Chris Webber.
Risky move when we have a ton of momentum and a ton of good publicity. Need to capitalize on our success. May not get this opportunity again. Two of the best point guards we faced this year were true freshmen.
I’m sure we’ll try to land an experienced point but we really need at least two in this year’s class.Risky move when we have a ton of momentum and a ton of good publicity. Need to capitalize on our success. May not get this opportunity again.
What would be the downside to signing an experienced pg out of the portal? If a freshman can beat him out then we would have a backup with experience? Oh, no.
If Sandfort and Frager come back I think we are in position to be right back and ready to make a run.
That kid from Vandy…. Wow. He was unguardable. I don’t remember the last time someone did that to Nebraska. Two of the best point guards we faced this year were true freshmen.
Maybe he was nominated, but Mr. Basketball went to Jaidyn Coon of Storm Lake. Now former Creighton commit (he decomitted yesterday with McDermott retirement). I think Rice got Gatorade player of the year, though.Rice was just named Mr basketball in Iowa
Jacobsen is a fine bench piece, and the Huskers have won a lot of games with him on the floor. It seems like you're forgetting that March 8th OT win vs Iowa pretty quickly. Jacobsen won that game, and I know (as do you) that Fred loves him. He's going to play big minutes next year. And yeah, he sucked against Vandy. And wouldn’t be playing for Huskers if they had anyone, anyone else. He had a miserable night with turnovers, fouls and missed shots.
Cale is fine against teams that don’t have great guards. He literally won the Iowa game with two 3s in OT.And wouldn’t be playing for Huskers if they had anyone, anyone else. He had a miserable night with turnovers, fouls and missed shots.

He was fantastic, but NOT a freshman. That kid from Vandy…. Wow. He was unguardable. I don’t remember the last time someone did that to Nebraska.
And Huskers will take a giant step backwards if he is playing “big” minutes next year.Jacobsen is a fine bench piece, and the Huskers have won a lot of games with him on the floor. He's already playing big minutes genius. I don't expect 28-6 next year but we'll be a tourney team regardless. And Huskers will take a giant step backwards if he is playing “big” minutes next year.
It depends on what OP defines as “Big minutes “ ? 15-20? Over 20 ? I need clarification. He's already playing big minutes genius. I don't expect 28-6 next year but we'll be a tourney team regardless.
He's played in every game and averages 19 mins, 4 less than the 6th man of the year. He's a major rotation piece this year and will be next year as well. I'm guessing we bring in a PG that starts and Cale's situation remains similar, depends on who we get. Acting like his performance against Vandy is representative of his season is just ignorant. He's shooting over 50%, 38% from 3, his assist/turnover ratio is 2-1, has more steals than Lawrence, he's a decent rebounder, and he's 3rd on the team in blocks. He sucks at the FT line and needs to get that straightened out.It depends on what OP defines as “Big minutes “ ? 15-20? Over 20 ? I need clarification.
Jacobson will being coming off the beach next year as well. And Huskers will take a giant step backwards if he is playing “big” minutes next year.

Wow, he's coming off the beach? Are you a fvkking retard?Jacobson will being coming off the beach next year as well.
He isn’t the starter like Frager will be.
No, actually Rice was named “2025-26 Gatorade Iowa Boys Basketball Player of the Year”. I watched him play several times this year and at the state tourney. He will be a decent college player, but like many high school seniors, he will need to get stronger in college. When his Waukee NW team got beat at state, the opponent held Rice in-check with strong defense and Rice settled for jump shots.Rice was just named Mr basketball in Iowa
