Injuries and roster construction were also problems last year, I agree the strength of the SEC covered up a lot of the cracks that were quickly showing. The general happiness of liking the team, getting rid of Cal, the newness of the staff, the fun style, and the big wins helped a ton. Under it all though you could see all the flaws that led to this year. The writing was on the wall last year. Even though UK had many good wins, and a sweet 16 run, they also had 8 double digit losses.
I’m going to need it explained how we finish 4-6th place in the SEC but play on Wednesday…lol though go off you’re probably not wrong in general. And there is nothing we can do about it. Most everyone can see what is around the corner with Pope. 12+ loses, 4-6th place in SEC, playing on Wed in the SECT, and a likely one and done (if we make the NCAA) to end the year.
Next year will not be better.
When someone shows you who they are, believe themWith all the resources that Kentucky offers a coach, Pope hasn’t improved. That tells me he’s not the guy… time to cut losses and move on. IMO
