Pope is probably not going anywhere but if he did at this point, it’s desperation time. We couldn’t afford to have another bad hire. We would need a proven winner that’s won everywhere he’s coached no matter how bad they were before he took over.
I’ve not been a fan of Bruce Pearl personality in the past but I remember telling an IU fan when they were looking for a coach they should hire Bruce Pearl because he always wins at a high level and the job he did at Auburn was one of the best I’ve ever seen.
what could he do at a blue blood with a large nil budget?
He took Auburn to the final 4 pre nil.
At this point I don’t know if there’s a better option

I don’t think Pope is going anywhere For at least one one more year.
Fans can dream, but I just don’t see UK giving up on Pope yet.

There is a better chance the game has passed Billy bye. He is a lot older and NIL has made D1 basketball into JUCO. Actually, that gives a lot of hope. You are always one year from turning it around.

First, he turned us down twice. Asking him a third time is just stroking his ego and sucking our thumb at the same time. Secondly, he's not leaving his cushy spot in the NBA where he doesn't have to recruit, doesn't have to teach basics, doesn't have to worry about GPA's (not even sure that's a thing anymore), doesn't have to worry about players' neurotic parents, etc.
