You don't look like that in March (and all season long) from just bad roster construction (which is also his own fault.) Iowa St. had an identity, despite not having superstars, their best player injured, etc.. There is a massive difference in coaching. I don't see any point in giving Mark Pope a 3rd year when there are literally 30 better coaches right now you could hire. Everyone was right at the beginning. Mark Pope is just not the right fit for Kentucky.

Mark Pope is exactly who MB hired and who he will always be. His 64% win record at UK matches his 63.7% career win record. He's just not a good coach.
I think Mark Pope is just a very, very niche coach. He can sneak into the top 25 every other year at a school like Utah or something, but it just won't work here. As we have seen from the recruiting. He needs a very specific player, who matches his personality and fits in a very specific system.
