I think Pope will step down. Recruiting is going nowhere and he knows it. He knows next year will be even worse. I don’t think he wants to age another ten years next season.

He sure doesnt have much for next year. If he doesnt go buck wild in the recruiting trail over the next month, there is no way Kentucky makes the tournament next year. And when that happens, then he WILL be fired and the fan base will loathe him (I actually think his "legacy" as a player is just about erased at this point, with how bad of a coach hes been)..
So is that a better path for him? To get fired a year later and run out of town, potentially hurting your future coaching prospects? I guess for $6mil or whatever, it may be.

Lol yeah, just hired his assistant from BYU less than a week ago but I'm sure this game changed his mind though.

I actually agree. Something has to happen. Whether he steps down on his own or they agree to some kind of buyout. That man cannot be on Kentucky’s sideline next year.

He’s not going anywhere. We have a moron for an AD, his money grubbing buddies below him, a stupid president who doesn’t care one bit about athletics, and Pope actually thinks he can do a good job. He will never quit on his own, he’s making the most of his last big coaching opportunity.
just in case you dont follow college bball that much, really good players dont tend to jump on board a sinking ship where a coach is thought to be on the hot seat. That off season there was a buzz and things were thought to be on a new upswing and now things are on a down swing with Pope having a bad reputation with agents and the recruiting world .
