Nobody at UK cares about the basketball program even an ounce as much as the fans.
He doesn't need to go. What he needs is to be sat down and told that players nowadays don't give a **** about UK's legacy (or any other program's). Elite recruits (or portal transfers) are going to be guaranteed more playing time and certain roles.
It will all work out eventually. I'm not going to another game until Pope is gone. He was a good player on a great UK team. He's a very mediocre basketball coach.

There is a very bad odor coming from this UK team today...no heart, no prep, no coaching, no ball handler whatsoever, they have totally folded the tent!!!

We're pretty much the remnant now. No one seems to care about the program anymore. It will just flail around like a fish on the jetty while the admin just takes it for granted that the money will flow in and be magically sustained.
