I'm not going to blast the fans who want to give him one more year, but I strongly disagree with them.
One more year only extends the agony.
He has shown nothing in his career, nor in his two years here that suggest he is even remotely likely to get us competing for national titles. Ever.

Why is it that we can't guard the high pick and roll??? They always look so confused, pointing at each other. Do we ever practice defending it? Don't they talk to each other when they see it coming? Are we just too lazy to execute? And when they lob dunk on us two or three times in a row, why doesn't our coach change something?? Switch, don't switch - DO SOMETHING. I tried to be positive today, but It turned into the same nonsense as always against a good team. We actually started a game great, and then he does what he does. Ruins their entire game in 10 minutes.
He is what he is. We have tried to tell you guys this all year. How many times do we have to see the same uninspired, lack of preparation game. The ones we actually started well, what’s he do? He takes everyone out and blows the game wide open. Jasper Johnson should never see the floor ever, Morneo has gotten worse over the year somehow. BG no Shows yet again, Mo D no show. We don’t understand how to guard a basic screen. Him letting JQ treat us like his ***** really ticks me off.

Mark might come back, but there’s been more said by many than just I don’t have control. The fanbase actually does have control in sports. But there have been many making excuses that are beyond in just rooting because I have no control. They actually make a case for him.

I expected a loss today but getting dominated like that is a terrible look. Obviously Pope won’t be gone this year. But if he has another fringe season next year, and then gets knocked out of the tournament in a blowout, it could be the nail in the coffin the way it seems like UNC's choke job is going to cost Hubert his job.

It would be one thing if the dude could recruit, hell, just be an average recruiter, but he is bad at it and because of that, he will not get the players that he needs to turn this around. Coaches from other schools are already badmouthing him in recruiting, Pope does not have a counter punch to the negative recruiting, and it's going to be even worse after a season like this 
I agree 100% he needs to go but I will take the “true fan” argument. I got sick of seeing all the Popaholics spewing out we aren’t true fans if we don’t share their opinions. As dumb as they are, it does’t make one more a fan than another.

I’d be all for moving past Pope in the next thirty minutes but it ain’t happening. Just another reason for people to argue at whoever won’t tell them what they want to hear. FWIW I’ve not been happy with a lot of Pope’s coaching this year and been pretty clear about it. But I’m also going to support the team no matter what.

The best game of the season was in the pre-season against Purdue. It has been a trainwreck since then.
