Iowa, and just about every other program was late to the party reacting to what Cael was doing in Happy Valley. Im just wondering if history is going to repeat itself again. DT is having some quick success. Alot of people thought it would take some time for him in Stillwater. What he's doing with this young talent is impressive. I wonder if we will hear the same " wait till this class is gone" kind of talk with him. He had a front row seat to see how the reloading thing is super important. Time will tell, but wrestling fans have seen this story before.
How did he resist the chance to be coached by Morningstar? Angelo is a beast but he will never be that bonus points machine. Angelo has some of the best defense on the planet so he can and will always be right in the money. There are similarities between he and Vega.

Serious question. Im not trying to get in an argument at all with you. You have extensive wrestling knowledge. No doubt. How can you not see this for what it is? Anyone who has followed wrestling has seen programs hit a decline. It may start slow, and there may be some bright spots, but you have to call it like you see it. It may be a podium team that drops to a top ten ten program, or it can be a championship caliber program that is fighting for a team trophy. Its a decline either way. Just a matter of expectations.
Do not confuse having a "lunatic" personality with being hard-nosed. I've heard some Nits say this over the last twenty years, and those morans just like to pile on 83% of the time. Iowa wrestling needs some improvements as does every program. But my opinion is Tom isn't one of the improvements needed. I think this offseason some improvements will happen. The RTC will have more guys competing which is important.

You claimed March is what counts yet Iowa had a **** conference tourney (which was held in March) leading to not great seeds relative to their actual talent which led to wrestling higher to seeds for some.
Iowa got 4th place at NCAAs. As an actual fan of the program, that is not good enough for us, fair or not.
Petersen didnāt AA. Drake took 5th after competing in the finals the previous 2 years. Bailey didnāt AA despite his seed. Mikey got smoked in the finals, Angelo defaulted out after taking a loss as predicted and despite his ranking coming out of HS. Kueter now has 2 low AAās to his name despite his p4p ranking out of HS.
Bright spots - Kennedy took 3rd. Cool.
Block AAāed - always had the ability.
Arnold- 7th place, best thing about the tourney
If these are the bright spots it does not leave this program in good shape. I was trying to not post anything negative because I really was over the moon for Gabe and block but the clowns like corby and msu dictated this.

Fair enough. I personally think Tom is the guy, but I don't see many options that are better at the moment. I think there are probably 20-30 guys in coaching right now that could achieve the same success, but no guarantee on any that would do significantly better. Just my opinion. I completely agree with the RTC side. That gets rolling and the trickle down effect could be big.

That goes back to recruiting again. Angelo didnāt just learn that defense and scrambling since starting college and neither has these other young studs. Theyāre working on that since childhood and some have the physical flexibility, quickness and athleticism to make it look easy. Jax is a freak of nature. Only thing that will stop him from being a 4 timer is the same thing that stopped Lee, severe injuries and surgeries.
