Aberdeen's dunk at the end was "bush league" according to Tim Brando

I remember when Dillon Brooks hit a 3 on Duke with the shot clock running out. K caught him in the handshake line and told him he was too good to take that shot. Fast forward Duke was playing some team up by like 20 with like 10 seconds left in game. Duke player dives in passing lane steals the ball flips it a head to a guy who goes in for a dunk. Didn’t see K bad mouthing his player just showed how K was about his team. Never saw him get on Gracie for tripping folks!!

Too much adrenaline in game. It was crazy. I’m fine with it no matter what but not a good take considering the crazy emotions of game. No one included their coach was thinking straight, including a little late TO and not fouling before the 3. Just too much going on for anyone to consider not scoring. End story.

Interestingly, Tony Delk hit a layup with 2.5 seconds left with a 7 point vs Syracuse in the 1996 title game.

Pitino’s teams used to score in the final seconds with giant leads often. We were only up 5. Two threes still beats you.

This has only been offensive in the last 20 years or so.

Brando can stick it.
I agree and Brando is just whining about a non issue. The game was still within 5 points and emotions run a little high in those scenarios. If Santa Clara was triggered by Aberdeen tough sh*t.

What is it with twitter culture and just seeking out controversy wherever it can be harvested? Exhausting Effing losers; the whole lot of em
Sadly, hot takes have overtaken common sense and pragmatism in the social media age. Combine the fact that our society no longer places any significance on learning the laws of logic with decreased attention spans and you have sports fandom in 2026…idiocy masquerading in broad daylight as intellectually valid arguments.

I don’t know why this ever became “the thing to do” anyway…play til the damn horn goes off. Has always aggravated me, especially during games when walk-ons are playing…they hardly get court time, then they’re expected to stand there and dribble the clock out.

“Oh, I’ll forego this wide open layup, because I don’t want to hurt your feelings by scoring.”

Just complete BS. Screw Tim Brando

I've seen that exact play in that exact same situation dozens of times (maybe hundreds) since I started watching hoops in the early 80s. No one has ever complained about it until recent years. Some people just aren't happy unless they have something to be offended by these days. Absolutely NOTHING bush league about it!

He probably should’ve just dribbled the clock out, but this seems like a silly thing for Brando to make an issue of.
This is my thought. Out of all the the things to focus on after a game as great as that game, I find it mystifying that’s what Brando decides to talk about.

He must have had a stroke watching the USC women’s team today that kept scoring in a game that ended up a 69 point win.

This meaningless Brando hissy fit over a last second dunk brought back memories of a truly beautiful last second dunk by James Lee in the 1978 championship game against Puke. A fabulous sight to see!

I will never understand these losers that think just because someone was here in 90s we should bow down and kiss their feet. It's a sport. The goal is to win, ESPECIALLY in the NCAAT. If these folks don't like that, maybe they have picked different careers or get different hobbies.
Sendek disrespected us by trying to win a game against his old employer! He also started whining in the press conference about his TO so that sounds disrespectful to the shot as well!

Yeah it was a thug move against a team they should've beat by at least 15 but that's mark pope basketball. Celebrate like you've never been there cuz you haven't
And you want us to believe you’re a Kentucky fan?! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Everyone knows you’re not. Stop the BS, troll!

We already had the GD ball anyway! He could NOT call a TO at that point! That announcer said it was a terrible no call lmao Read the rule book, retard. Think it was that ex dukie that played in the 70s.

My exact point total might one point off but back in the 70's UK-Kansas in Rupp, Kansas was up I think 6 points with 6 seconds to play and Kyle Macy scored 7 points in those final seconds to pull out a win for UK.
You play till the game is over
Was listening to Cawood on the radio. Won this game long before the 3 point shot was enacted.
