Zebras cost Santa Clara the upset win over Kentucky by not seeing the time our call by their coach.

No excuse! There are three referees in the game and two did not see Santa Clara calling for timeout with a 3-point lead after scoring.
The game tying long desperation shot by Kentucky to tie the game and go to overtime may not happen after a time out.

Your thoughts?

Happens quick but yeah with 3 refs someone has to see the coach. Did cost them the win but just part of the game...they had every opportunity to win in ot

Yes. I agree....but there is a small risk of making the first foul shot and miss on the second with a Kentucky put back to tie....or an accidental rebound foul on Santa Barbara.
Santa Clara would have discussed defense options in a timeout.

Even If all of that happened in less than 2 seconds it would be to tie. Much less likely than giving up a three.
