LFG Block .Tried telling you guys about Block 🤷
Yep I was one of them, said he needed work on bottom and his tank wasn't good (though I thought that might be due to the cut to 141).....I thought he looked a long ways away. I like being wrong in these cases; Ryder's wrestled a great tourney and is really a nice, unpretentious kid. You were high on him Corby, I remember.....

Yes you did. I'm so happy to be wrong. Great kid and guts all the way. I didn't think he could string enough wins together with all he has been through, but I couldn't be happier for a young man and a family that has seen plenty of tough times lately. Block is the man!

Didn't think he'd get swiderski again! But awsome he's been right there all year

Awesome tourney by Block. I believe that despite all of WSR’s success, he’s only the 2nd AA after Bryce Steiert’s 8th place finish in 2019. Kudos to Block!
In recent history yes there was the greenlee brothers in the late 80s and one in the 90s that were heavyweights and both made the finals think one beat kerry McCoy in 95 would of been the upset of the tournament if McIlravy didnt lose going for his 3rd

Actually I did. All the way back to National Duals (and some others as well I'm sure, we don't exist in a vacuum).

Then he hit the roller coaster ride for whatever reason. Glad to see early season Ryder Block showed up, he's clearly capable of this AA outcome.

I was thinking similar, but couldn't remember if any of the Ballweg's made the podium at least once.

I appreciate this. I did mean since their dynasty began but left out that important distinction. Joel is the HC at Ohio, FWIW.

They didn’t.

I feel for that young man. Those knee injuries were tough and you can tell they were hard on him. He wrestled his butt off and he should be super proud.
Yet people will still call these kids and the families out it's disgusting.

This kid has a lot of heart and guts, glad he’s a Hawkeye, excited to see what the next two years hold for him. To come back and all American after two knee surgeries is pretty incredible, hats off to him.
