I have my wife watching it. I am going back and forth between this and basketball. Don’t know that much about gymnastics but they seem to be scoring well.

Rutgers came out on top with a score of 195.7, ahead of Nebraska, Illinois and Washington, despite a less than ideal showing on balance beam (seems to be their weakest event this season, unfortunately). Gabby Dildy was amazing again and had the highest all-around score. We will see how these scores hold up after the next two sessions tomorrow that include a number of ranked teams.

The score guarantees that Rutgers will move into 36th. They’ll get the last spot into regionals and it’ll be the second year in a row that the team makes the NCAAs. Very happy for the seniors.

Not sure you can say this yet, though you’re probably going to end up being right.

No 33 Air Force hasn’t completed their session in the MWC.

No. 34 Central Michigan scored 196.025 in the MAC today — better than their current National Qualifying Score — so they’re probably in.

No. 35 Washington scored just 195.475, only slightly better than their NQS but worse than Rutgers’ B1G score yesterday. Nail biting time for the Huskies.

No 36 Pitt scored just 194.450 today, BELOW their NQS.

End of the day, you’re probably right that Rutgers sneaks in past Pitt, but also possibly sneaks by Washington into 35th place. We were literally just .008 below UW in the NQS before the Big Ten Championships.

There are some who track this stuff. Some spots were locked up before today even began. Washington secured regionals last night. Rutgers needed Pitt to score below 195.65 to qualify, and Pitt did. The only team Rutgers may bypass is Air Force if they get a 194 or so tonight, which means Rutgers gets either 35 or 36, slight lean to 36. Either way, Rutgers is in, which is a big accomplishment.

AF scored 195.750 tonight, so guessing they’re in and we’re 36th.

Actually, Boise — who was right behind us — scored a very good 196.200 tonight. So wonder if they could sneak by us.

Anyway, the selection show is Monday at 12 noon on ESPNU.

These are the updated rankings with today’s scores put in. Boise passed Pitt but Rutgers is locked at 36. This website shows rankings as scores come in each day (if you set it for “Daily Results” in the week results dropdown), which is helpful!

Results above are on other sites … RU is in. Last year RU scored 193.800. Let’s see if RU can take that next step and pull off a win!

NCAA brackets are out. There are 4 preliminary round duals, which will then result in a 32-team bracket, and #36 Rutgers (195.398 National Qualifying Score/NQS) is in a preliminary round dual against #31 Central Michigan (195.597 NQS).

The winner goes on to face Ohio State (196.492 NQS) in the Round of 32.

The Regionals take place April 1-5.

Addition and slight correction:

The Rutgers/CMU dual will take place on Thursday, April 2 at 2 p.m. The winner won’t just have a dual against OSU. Rather, according to the Rutgers website,

“RU will take on No. 31 Central Michigan in a dual meet on Thursday, April 2 at 2 p.m., with the winner advancing to a quad against No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 16 Kentucky and No. 18 Ohio State on Friday, April 3. The top two teams from that quad will compete in the regional final on Sunday.”
