For what it's worth Kentucky and Iowa State have 3 common opponents(St.Johns, Eastern Illinois, Mississippi State) and both teams are 3-0 against those three common opponents.

Cumulative scores against the 3 common opponents:

Kentucky 269-187...average score 90-62
Iowa State 257-215...average score 86-72

Kentucky beat each of them by more points.

If...If, we were to beat Iowa St without their best player, we'd face a mediocre UVA to go to the, wait for it...ELITE EIGHT AND LIKELY FACE A TEAM WE'VE BEATEN TWICE! Gotta love March!
Not gonna count my chickens just yet but the path just got easier in our bracket.
I hope that doesn't send some of our "fans" to local bridges or anything like that!

Iowa St is pounding Tenn St by almost 30 without him. He may be an important player but they’re still a much better team than we are. It’ll take Kentucky playing their best game of the year to beat Iowa St.
He was an absolute DUDE. I think 2nd or 3rd team All-American.
I think if he can't play, that makes it a lot closer to even. We have won 5 games this year vs KenPom top 20 teams (1 of only 5 teams to do that). That doesn't count a scrimmage win vs another one. But we do have 8 losses vs those same top 20. Will we be favored, probably not, but I think our odds go from like 20-25% to win up to 40-50% to win.

After that Auburn Elite 8 game where one of their players being injured gave me confidence in getting back to the Final Four, it’s hard for me to believe anything than one of our best games of the year will get us the win against ISU.

Not going to overreact to Iowa St. pounding a 15 seed.

Think UK has a decent shot now with Jefferson likely out.
I honestly think we have a great chance with him or not. I really like the matchup against them as long as we play hard for 40 minutes. We definitely need to rebound better than today and i think they will. Nerves got us today a little bit but we have nothing to lose from now on so hopefully they play great. If we can pull it out and of course my bracket says we do we beat Tennessee again if they make it. Getting excited. Thanks and Go Cats

When a top player is out for our opponents these two years, we've lost the game as the opponent rallies and plays with even more urgency and we dont match that until its too late with 7 minutes to go.
