Sorry, thats just bull****. Nothing selfish about the kid. He is shooting like crap, it happens. The kid was our best 3 point shooter, he needs to keep shooting. But he plays hard on defense, is smart and passes the ball well. Criticize him for having a bad game but selfish is nonsense

Smart players don’t keep dribbling into traffic and lose the ball again and again. Oweh and Aberdeen keep doing it, next level move killer, neither handle the ball well enough in college to be effective in the pros. Both are seniors and have to be smarter than that.
I accepted the fate of this team a long time ago. With that being said…Santa Clara can be added to St. Peters and Oakland. They are a very average basketball team.
We should shoot 30 FT’s this game. No way they could stop us driving the ball if we would pass the damn thing.
What’s going to be fun watching is all the people that love pope saying “yeah he just wasn’t a good fit for Kentucky” after he’s fired. They’ll act like they never worshiped him

At the beginning of the season we heard about what a great offensive team this was going to be. All I can say about that is 29 points at halftime against a team that isn’t known for defense.
True, but do we want Chandler shooting another 3? Somethîg is going on in his head. His 3 point shooting has been horrible the last two games.
If he loses today, I think it will be. When MB left, it opened the door to the possibility he could be let go. The new GM may be on the fence about him, but a first round loss would likely swing it

Santa Clara is nothing special, they're not even playing that well, and they have the lead. Even if we win Pope is showing NOTHING that proves he's worthy of this job.
There's a very real possibility that next season isn't even as good as this one (actually I would bet on it at this point unless a change is made), and when we finally do what needs to be done a year or two too late, we'll likely have to go head-to-head with UNC and Kansas (and whatever schools they hire from) in the next big hiring cycle. Not great.

Honestly, as painful as it is, I'd rather lose today, and fire Pope in the offseason, than to win 2 games in the tournament and him keep the job another year. I think this experiment is over! We need to go hire an actual Head Coach.
He went to MIT ... he's a member of Mensa ... high intellect coach that can relate to his players.
I don’t care what anyone says, you can’t convince me that most other D1 coaches with this same roster wouldn’t be winning this game comfortably right now with how things went in that first half. Mark just doesn’t have it, never has and never will.
