It'a always been amazing to me how Duke guys shoot like JJ Reddick at Cameron but can't hit the side of a barn in these big arenas. That is why 3 happy teams make me nervous.
If teams push Cam into taking 3's we wont get far......we need an inside presence....this was a disaster avoided and hopefully lesson learned...but i have my doubts
I don't want to beat a dead horse, but the injuries have changed everything for us. We have no room for error.
This is what bothered me after both injuries. You only have two bench players and nothing is saying Pat plays Saturday . Duke has to hit shots if not teams are gonna pack the paint and let Boozer do his thing as long as the other four aren’t on from behind the arch .

Agreed with those that have said enjoy this win and of course this provided teams some more insight how to beat Duke. But tonight we get a nice night of watching stress free madness.
Today was honestly the first time all year I thought we were going down but we won and Cayden deserves his flowers. The last three games he’s been every bit of his five star status and I hope he’s one of the rare ones that stays for multiple years.

Yeah I think there’s a very, very slim chance we see him Saturday and as I said yesterday- I’d be shocked if we see him again this year.

Any info on when the Saturday game might be? I’ve got a birthday dinner in the evening, so I’m really hoping it’s earlier.
Pat, Caleb, and Slim all played in the tournament last year. Darren is the only one without meaningful minutes from last year. Yes, no Caleb or Pat out with injuries right now. And Maliq only played in the final four and was probably only 50%.
Had a meeting at the end and just back now to comment. We showed a lot of fight in the final 15 mins to pull this out. Was that our worst three point shooting game of the year? Had to be close.
I know this was a Mallox moment for all of us but I really think Jon will use this as fuel and have us torqued up big time for Saturday. I expect smothering defense and better shooting.

Probably so. Against Cal we were 7-32 for 21.9%. Today 5-26 for 19%

Dude get a life ! No they didn’t Duke lost one game in the ACC and one game out of conference and was healthy at both loses! Duke only has seven players not nine and now start two bench players you need to really chill on my post because nothing you come at me with makes any sense
Your the number one seed overall with the number one or two defense depending who you go off . No one saw Duke being down by 11 to Siena nor taking until after the 10 minute mark in the second half to cut into the lead or to take it . That was also with accounting for two injuries . How are you not prepared they simply over looked Siena and it almost came back to bite them . Evans is a sophomore and Brown a senior so by your logic missing Foster isn’t an over statement seeing as how he has the most experience in a Duke uniform .
By the way I don’t give a care how you spell it one or two N’s . Unless Duke gets atleast pat back it’s simple let Boozer score 40 as long as everyone else isn’t hitting 3’s .

Any team left would have a hard time if they lost two key starters. We are a really thin team now, which means Sarr and Khamenia have to be better than going a combined 2-12 That puts too much on Cam and Evans.
I really think we will see a focused effort on Saturday. It's got to start at the defensive end. We were passive for the first 25 minutes yesterday. How many layups did we give up yesterday? Brown and Sarr have been devastatingly effective on defense nearly all year. Yesterday they both looked a step slow for the better part of the game.

Even Harris has to step up. He had a couple really good looks yesterday and they didn't go down. Also, we desperately need Pat back. Maliq is good but he can't play like his normal self out there and be aggressive and a disruptor out there. He tries to be aggressive then picks up dumb early fouls and sits the rest of the half. It wasn't too bad last week when it happened because the others were hitting shots unlike yesterday.

All I can say is “WOW”! I didn’t get to watch the game live because I was teaching Driver Education. I would check the score when I had my drivers switch places. I was more nervous than the girl running off the edge of the road about 4 times.
I think we (coaches, players, fans, and especially me) overlooked this game. I watched the recording and thought we came out strong shooting the ball early, but the defense just wasn’t there. The two missed Siena dunks back to back felt like the game changer. We were very, very lucky to win. Siena had some bunnies that just didn’t go in. I really expect to see an amped up Duke team tomorrow and no, Siena didn’t create a blueprint to beat Duke.

100%. We have the best young coach in America and I hope he stays forever- but this one was absolutely on him. We snuck out with a win an that ALL that matters in March and I’m sure this was a wake up call but it’s absolutely fair he gets some criticism after yesterday. LGD
