As if people don't understand that the opponents get way better the farther you go into the Championship side of the bracket...

Yeah well ya know what, they f***ing shouldn't.....especially if it's an Iowa opponent.
Maybe tomorrow morning will start dropping guys to the consis because we will have a bunch of 6, 7, and 8 seeds wrestling against 1, 2, and 3 seeds and not because we just suck!? Man some of you guys can just be miserable no matter what.
Iowa has done what theyāre supposed to so far this session. That canāt always be said of the regular season (at least the spring semester results) so I take it take that as a positive.
Exactly, win when you should with bonus, win the coin flips, and mix in a few upsets. That is all we can hope for. If Iowa gets 7 guys to the quarters how many will be favorites (seriously), like 2? Pretty tough to expect 3 or 4 upsets from Iowa alone. We are seeded where we are seeded for a reason.
Little Parco (although he bigger than his bro) might've just got the upset against Nebraska at 165 pending review.

For sure, can't upset someone in the quarterfinals if you get upset yourself in the R16 or R32. Advance and give yourself a chance!

Kennedy 8-2, dang near had a td at the end for major. Boys are out there trying to sendoff Bobby T in style, by scoring more points today than he did in his career.
But on a positive note, he won AND kept the first period takedown streak alive.
Kennedy should have cut him a lot earlier than he did, with 30 seconds to go. It was pretty clear he wasn't going to turn the Princeton wrestler. Missed a chance at a major.
Probably thought a replication of last year's results was automatic? Or maybe Manning did a crappy job of getting them ready for the tournament? Or maybe they didn't scout their opponents? Sound familiar?
Cut him way earlier and go get the td. Kennedy isnāt a turner. 
The guy was in on PK twice to start the match, and one of PK's takedowns was a scramble off the other guy's shot. It was no foregone conclusion he'd have finished another takedown off his own shot. If he could've he would've had it at the end there and he couldn't finish that either.
Per Wrestlestat (and assuming I didn't miss anything), PK has scored bonus at National Tournament once (TF in 2024). He is who he is, just win and move on.
Wellā¦ Iām not sure youāre understanding the subtleties of how this all works. Why are our guys seeded 6, 7 and 8s? (Hint: itās not because others are seeded 1, 2 and 3s.)
The effort is there sometimes the other guy is just game and that guy could scramble, and at the end of the day just gotta win and move on.

But he also would still have won by decision on the oft chance he got taken down. Needed to cut him earlier to give the best opportunity for bonus. Not the end of the world.
