Guess who was one of the three Oklahoma State players suspended for their NIT game last night?

Folks here often study in hindsight whether a player that leaves in this era made the "right" choice. I often think these takes a bit a biased or jaded -- as you would expect from a fan base who loses a player in some cases -- because there are examples of kids whose decision no doubt worked out great for them. But even despite the additional $$$ this seems like one that totally backfired on Coleman. Even if you believe -- as I do -- that his numbers last year were inflated because of how bad we were and the lack of offensive options, he seems to have regressed to this pre-freshman levels of performance (this is just me scouting the stat line, so to speak).

Saw a little of the OSU game last night and re play of UNLV at Cal Irvine today. Crowds (misnomer) were embarrassing. Schools should let anyone, willing to give up the time, in for free. Maybe they do? Give away free leftover merch, too. Anything.
I think the NIT games will be much more competitive than the loser-bracket Crown. UNLV v. Cal Irvine was a good game. Sounds as if Yale v. UNC-Wilmington was also good.

I stand on this…he would be our best offensive player but his arrest over the summer & sudden suspension steer me in the wrong direction. I would now pass, but I think Sha would take him back for a friendly discount.

As a soph with literally no talent around him, he put up better numbers than Clark as a junior lol

He did not, not even that close, if you think that,. let's just say your name should be Clueless instead of Barrett.
Coleman: 15.6ppg 5.3rpg 1.7apg on 39%, 30%, 76%

Clark: 12.7ppg 3.0 rpg 4.9apg on 44%, 22%, 74%

His numbers were actually A LOT better.

You forgot offensive efficiency and defense.

From Evan Miya:
Adam Clark this year: 2.62 OR, 2.82 DR, 5.45 total
Isaiah Coleman last year: 0.30 OR, 1.39 DR, 1.69 total

Efficiencies:
Adam Clark this year: 103.6 OE, 100.8 DE
Isaiah Coleman last year: 100.4 OE, 108.7 DE

Adam Clark this year: 2nd Team All Big-East
Isaiah Coleman last year: Bupkus

Should I go on?

Why is this even a discussion? I wish Coleman the best but there are dozens of comparable D1 players available. Sha & company need to evaluate those guys

The efficiencies are more about the supporting cast imo.

The 2nd team all BE is due to finishing 4th and the BE being wayyyy down. No one thinks he was a top 10player in the conference

not too many examples prove that stats dont tell the whole story any better than that, imho.
Your comparison makes no sense. It makes as much sense as comparing Hines to Clark. They play 2 different positions! Two different skill sets and requirements.

You can find Div 2 kids with the same skills and a lot cheaper.

That and his absolutely ridiculous NIL ask. He had no intention of coming back and I do not miss him one bit. In the last third of the season here he played no defense and clearly focused on his offensive numbers.

You left out teammates.

Imagine Clark playing with Okorafo, Yalden, Aligbe, Wusu, Middleton, & Dual

Isaiah always played hard for us and then left for more money. It didn't work out.

You guys who are gleeful in his tough year are messed up.

Towards the end he was trying to get his points to drive up his earnings potential. He was solid prior but bad idea to bring him back at this point.
