I remember only 1 at B1Gs. It was a throwaway challenge by Mich to give their 74 a lunger. I was honestly shocked it still didn’t go Michigans way.
So since we spend slightly more than 1/2 of what PSU spends shouldn't that give us 2.5 champions per year or perhaps 3 every once in a while? Hmmm...change is indeed needed. And we spend 30 percent more than tOSU and Nebby so shouldn't we be able to beat them? No? Of course I'm being sarcastic, but if these numbers are in fact real, since they've been FOIA'd, we should be better than we are.

If the wrestling program didn't look like a sinking ship right now I bet that investment would be north of $5 mil. Far from PSU but a good coach that gets the most out of their wrestlers could make the Iowa program a 1 out of every 3-4yr champion team in the current world.
Problem currently is Cael has the money and he seems to always help his wrestlers reach their expectations. Iowa has good money but fails to reach expectations.

So if final team results play out like many have projected, Iowa is underperforming their resources and ISU is overperforming. Chalk for most others in top 6. That just derailed this thread quite early.
4M, Expecting a horrible return on your money. What exactly does that account for? Is all of that HWC? Or both programs?
It took 7 posts for someone to call for Brands to be fired. I expected the cesspool to come stronger than that.
The TnT crowd will come strong after RD1 and RD 2. As usual, Friday morning will go a long way to determining the team race.
It isn’t club spending or NIL.
This is the money spent by the athletic department on wrestling. Salaries and benefits for coaches and support staff, scholarships, training, travel, facilities expenses, etc. Given it is for FY25 and for most schools that ended June 30, 2025 I’d guess it doesn’t include any revenue sharing as that really hadn’t kicked in yet as of that date.
Looking forward to the first round of action today, lots of high caliber match right from th get go. Lets Go HAWKS
If the list doesn’t include revenue sharing and other schools opted for a full complement of scholarships (which are included apparently) - that could significantly shew these numbers and be somewhat misleading.

At the end of the day, after salaries/benefits/travel, that is not a lot of money left over for athletes.

I guess what I'm saying is that without an itemized breakout, these numbers really don't mean alot. PSU could pay its staff 2x more than Iowa or spend 3x more on travel.

You have to enter the tournament as viewer(classic). It’s working on my phone at least.
It's there. Just make sure you choose "classic" from the main screen AND after you click the event, choose classic again on viewer type. Otherwise it redirects you to flo.

Will be curious to see who/how many do more with less this weekend. If the hawks performance (3rd) matched their spending, I would be ecstatic. Methinks the ROI will not match for Iowa.

Askren did a good video on team race after PSU (interestingly enough he states how Iowa doesn't have bonus point kind of guys like other teams in the lineup) and that is stating the obvious to us all for years now but would love to be surprised, but we just don't do it much outside of Lee in recent memory... see what happens!

Dean Peterson will be our first guy. On Deck Mat 5.
I think we will learn a lot on how the tournament is going to go for Dean based on this first match with Lauridsen. If Dean comes out active and scores some points then I think he will have a good tournament. He can’t sit around and wait until the 3rd/OT then win it.

It switches you to Flowrestling. I couldn't find the dashboard yesterday. I hope it is there today. I have watched the NCAAs at work for years on Trackwrestling with the little green and red guys!
9 guys going, how many wins today for the hawks ? Thursday morning usually goes good and then seems to go to hell.
