Whenever they need yanked from a game for doing something stupid, Pope gives them five and yells "Good job, good job" like he's coach biddy ball. They need to know why they are being taken out of game. I'm so annoyed at multiple things this year.

Lol says someone who has never coached anyone. We made the tourney without a pg. It is his fault on jq and no back up but here lately people have awful takes.

harsh, but perhaps you have a point. The kool-aid and orange slices/donuts postgame (win OR lose) are non-negotiable though. Everybody needs a "pick me up" after a game.
I don’t know what to do. People on here used to give Cal crap for screaming and acting a fool. And now they get on Pope for not screaming and acting a fool.

Oh I have coached biddy ball and this is exactly the way I treated the 12 year old kids.
There's a difference between acting a fool and playing Brandon Garrison the entire game and acting like he's doing a good job.
He saved us in the lsu game. You have to build players up its called being a coach.

But in Popes defense, you could say the same for a s.hit load of other coach's in college basketball. Cal has proven it, he is one of the best recruiters in the game still, and getting the horses is the first part of winning the big race.

Other than Neil Reid, his players loved him. Then the story how he recruited Thomas out of Chicago shows he was the same guy no matter what.
Coaches can't be tough on everyone these days; some take it as it is, others, not so much.
And maybe make them stand up at the end of the bench as an assistant lets them know what they did wrong before they can sit down.
