Nebraska remains the only power-conference team without an NCAA Tourney win. They are heavily favored to beat Troy. Are you rooting for them to win, or to continue to keep the title of least-accomplished P6 team?

Sure! I've really appreciated the way Hoiberg has built that program back up. They play real fun brand of ball. This'll likely be their best shot in awhile given they're losing their floor general, young Hoiberg, and their big, Rienk Mast. And you need great play from the 1 and the 5 to have a double bye/triple by quality team.

With the B1G trying to build its brand to the national level, we need every win we can get. Not every conference is rolling in the dough like the Sun Belt and this is Troy's second consecutive tournament appearance; third appearance in four years if you count the CBI. They're getting kinda greedy imho.

I am. I think they're a bit fraudulent because I think they can only beat good teams when the 3 point shot is falling, but I would love to see them get at least one win.

If I'm Troy, I 100% focus on taking away Sandfort. I tell the guy that is on him that you don't even pretend to help. If we give up a 2 on a drive because you didn't help defend, so be it, but don't give him even an inch of space. Make Hoiberg, Mast and other guys beat you. I think Nebraska can still win even if they take Sandfort away, but he's their best scorer/biggest weapon, and it's primarily from the 3 point line. Take him away and see what happens.

The counter move for Nebraska in this situation should be to play through Mast at the top of the key or at the elbows. He's a good offensive player and a really good passer.

Maybe it was a fever dream, but I thought the Cats were in the mix for him this past summer. I was really impressed with him this season - dude has a quick and accurate trigger.

Very quick trigger. He would have been a great pickup, but I'll admit he really exceeded my expectations this year. Didn't think he would be THIS good this season. That said, I still think it's kind of ridiculous that he got first team Big Ten over Nick.

Boy, that was something else. Our fan support in SLC in 2017 was amazing, but nothing like what the Nebraska fanbase did today. Suddenly regretting taking Vanderbilt to go far.

Go Huskers! That was amazing. I have massive respect for Fred Hoiberg and appreciate the way that team plays. Good for them. Vanderbilt is good and that took everything Nebraska had.
First, **** Nebraska.

Second, that was a very very good game between two very good teams playing very well.

I didn’t catch Nebraska’s loss to Iowa last night. Not a fan of either program but that is a cool geographical rivalry, and I’d have rather seen UNL win than Io_a

Guess they need to stick with football. How on earth??? Like trying to play 9 on defense in a football game.

That was really odd. Having four players on the court, especially coming out of a timeout. I've never seen that before. Do the refs have an obligation to not allow play to start until they've confirmed that five players are on the court for each team?

I can speak only to lower levels in which I officiated for many years. Rules only specify that no MORE than five players per team can play at any time; in fact fewer than five are allowable by rule except to start the game. As a standard practice, however, someone on the crew should be responsible for quick count of players oncourt at beginning of periods and after each timeout or other stoppage (injury, disqualification, etc.) before ball is put in play. As a courtesy, we'd quickly notify the bench if there were too many or too few oncourt, so a player would be seen running on or off the court to make it right.

So yes, I'd be surprised if the NCAA evaluator(s) for Nebraska-Iowa didn't mark down the entire officiating crew for the oversight. I'd be moe shocked if any Div I head coach doesn't designate one of the sizable sideline cadre to be responsibie for ensuring the right five are on the floor. Someone on the Huskers staff had some 'splainin' to do!
