I am sure you love your tiddly winks and marbles. But there is something of a nice feeling to blast a drive 250 yards rigth where you aimed, throw and iron shot to within 10 feet, and sink the putt for birdie.

It feels good and takes a lot of strength and practice
To each his own.

I prefer sports over golf.

Mark Twain said that "golf is a nice walk wasted"

I am not betting on it, I dont bet on sports especially prop bets or whatever the hell they are called. I enjoy sports for sports, playing them or watching the best of the best

I played poker a long time ago and always like that but it was nickle dime quarter. I would play skins etc at golf a long time ago just for fun.

I feel bad for so many that are addicted to it and have literally lost their shirts
I enjoy poker for nickels, dimes, quarters, it is a fun game. Five card draw, nothing wild, it's pure poker.

When people risk hundreds of dollars on a card game that's okay too, as long as they can afford the loss.

The over, again, is very juicy. I will, again, be betting it.

Other leans:

Michigan over
Maryland over
Indiana under

Well since we are going to win the National Championship, I would say we would be over. Duh!

I am going with a surprise 10 win season.

2018:............8-4 (before Outback Bowl WIN)

Sure thing,

My takeaway is that Ferentz has been better than 7.5. Looking at the 2026 schedule, I think Iowa should be favored to go 9-3.

Who do we lose to? Is this the year where big bro Huskers beat Iowa? ;)

Thanks Fran. Most of us will predict 3-0 out of the gate, but then I could see Iowa dropping 2 of the next 3. So 4-2 but don't get too down. Two weeks to heal and beat Minny (again) and the next big challenge is at the Illini 4 weeks later.

So 10-2 is doable- of course any 10 is doable.

Yeah, that would be realistic. Running the table from Minny through Nowledge U may be a chore for an Iowa team with many new starters.

We really need to start 3-0.

The next 3 games will tell us a lot (at Michigan, Ohio State, at Washington).

Don't tell @EvilMonkeyInTheCloset this, but if we are 6-0 at that point, we might need to start thinking another 12-0 regular season and a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

If we go 6-0 to start the season I'll eat my hat, but my god how much fun would it be to knock off aOSU and Michigan in back to back games!

At Michigan, their last coach is incarcerated. OSU, well, it's in Kinnick. At Washington I do not know except Seattle is a port on the Pacific.

If we can take one of them that would be okay. Maybe two?

Washington is a probable loss. Their QB is dynamic passer and runner..Heisman candidate.

At illini will be tough.
8-4.

Again, these posts do not have the sound of wagers being placed
1. You don’t know that.

2. A person doesn’t have to place a bet to have an opinion on the over/under. And not placing a bet doesn’t make their opinion invalid.

3. Why do you even care? It’s really none of your business whether people place a wager or not. Or express an opinion or not.

Jeez, 83. Are you on your period or something.?
It's not a big deal...
Chill out
83 is right. Most if not all of us have gambled (and lost) on football bets. You can have an opinion on a line without wasting your money.

A sportsbettor always seeks to have a pulse on the community. And always seeks to gather as much information as possible.

This is a handicapping thread. Whether someone doesn't bet, whether someone does bet but is indifferent on the prop, whether someone has a lean but doesn't feel it's strong to beat the juice, or whether someone has made a bet, is all information that is fundamental to the thread.

It's not an opinion thread, but some opinions are more valuable than others. If a guy bets sports, but isn't betting the prop, that's a valuable distinction. If a guy tells you to bet the farm on something, wouldn't you want to know if he actually isn't betting a dime on it himself. And in general, unless a guy just degeneratley fires at everything, if he's made a bet, I'm going to value his handicap (opinion) more than someone who hasn't backed his opinion with money

Emmett Johnson was Nebraska’s Offense last year, and he gone.

I realize they win the offseason every year.

But, to answer your question, no. The streak stays alive for another year.
