Instead of playing useless teams like JSU & Alcorn, why not play ECCC & PRCC instead- since they are better at baseball?

Why not just play some high school teams? I’m sure a couple years back Madison central would have beaten every juco team in the state.
I played juco baseball and had fall ball against some D1 schools. It’s pretty common. But it’s totally different than playing them during an actual season. At least 1/3 of the guys that were on a D1 team in the fall ended up not actually making the spring squad. It’s not an apples to apples comparison. The D1 teams are just trying to play games against someone they won’t play in the spring and the juco teams are scouting players that won’t make the spring team.
You’re correct playing swac is not helpful for the RPI at all. But by seasons end, we will have played probably a top 15 strength of schedule and if we win enough the rpi will take care of itself. It always does on the sec.

I don't think there are any examples of a D1 team playing a JUCO team in a regular-season real game (i.e., not a fall exhibition where they go 16 innings and get everyone some at bats and innings) in the 2020s. Please correct me if I'm wrong, or edit your post that claims "Others do it around the country."

Or that even replacing them with ECCC or PRCC would be worse or a bad idea.

At this point those guys are in their 60s, I don’t see them being much better than Alcorn and it would be a hassle for them to have the old uniforms taken out to fit them now.
