I'm hooked on watching videos of people unclogging storm drains/blowing up beaver dams, rodent control with dogs, watch restoration, rug cleaning, and fishing lure making.

Anyone else having a rabbit hole I can jump down?

I've been strangely attracted to videos about crops we used to grow that have mostly disappeared with the dominance of vegetables and fruits and grains that ship well and store forever. If it doesn't meet those qualities only a few weirdos around the world keep that heirloom stuff going. It seems important.

Amazing the variety of things like bananas and potatoes there are that you will never see in a grocery store.

ETA and stuff like this. Incredible how many things that are now ubiquitous around the world came from small remote regions, or islands in this case, less than 500 years ago...

I watch a lot of Chicago FD & FDNY videos sprinkled in with old Skynyrd videos, grilling and a channel of a dad and his son working on cars (speed bump garage)

The Essential Craftsman. I can watch him all day.

Knot tying on YouTube should not be as interesting as it is to me.

Project Farm is product reviews.

The Car Care Nut is a Toyota Master Tech, and his nitpicking of modern vehicle horseshittery is refreshing.

AvE is an irreverent angry Canadian mechanic/engineer who does DEEP product reviews, repairs and some restoration. Very smart, funny as hell.

I was bored and clicked a 30 min video where 2 Asian kids dig a well by hand, and said: There’s no way I’m watching all this. It was sped up and I watched every second of it, and thought, we are devolving as a human race. Everyone should know this. They hand dug the well, lined it with grass and stone, used different sizes of bamboo for “tubing”, and chopped down trees and burned them to create different charcoal chambers for the filters to make a clean water well. I was transfixed.

The storm drain ones are fun. There's a pair of them down the street from me that clog up all the time and nearly flood the road, and it's fun watching it all go away when you clear the grate.

Why yes, I am about to turn 50, why do you ask?

Twin Tour Golf. It’s these twin brothers who play mini golf with family and friends, and they voice over announce it like it’s the most important thing in the world. It’s pretty fun mindless entertainment.

RunwayDFW. Its a guy who livestreams planes at DFW taking off and landing and it's really cathartic. I watch at night after the kid goes to bed usually while playing my switch for some peaceful background noise when it's not baseball season. (During the season I'll turn a game on with radio broadcast.)

Veg Village Food. An Indian grandmother with her grandsons cooking giant quantities of to feed the village kids.

Downright Delicious. It's a guy from illinois with down's syndrome cooking, and his vibe is awesome.

I've somehow become hooked on ASMR videos of chiropractors, people who do nutrition response testing and other "alternative" medicine practitioners. Pure BS but somehow the videos are very relaxing. The comments on some of the videos are pure gold.
