Wrangler ATG. The have some stretch but are the best work pants I’ve ever worn. I used to be a Carhart everyday guy. Bought a pair of these and a week later replaced all mine. I’ve work the same Carharts for years then all of a sudden the don’t fit so I tried the ATG.

I'm trying to find some casual cotton old school type kaki pants that aren't stretchy or drawstring, elastic, tight at the ankle. I can't find them anywhere, everything is stretchy or elastic waist or "flexible".
Have you tried LL Bean or Land’s End?

I wear bearbottoms shorts and got some of the pants for like $60 and like them. May be some stretch at the waist but don’t remember, it’s not major if so

Check out Duluths Trading Fire Hose pants. They do have a little give to them but are cut in a traditional size and shape. I have been wearing traditional blue jeans for most of my life but now wear these about 90 percent of the time.

Brooks Brothers khakis. A little pricey but last forever. Classic fit and styling -- not like the new "skinny" pants.

Some of us need that stretch waist band. As we age, our tummies get bigger and our butts get smaller and legs get skinnier. Normal pants are baggy.

Have you noticed that pants are in many cases marketed as "a pant"? Does that mean you have to buy two of them to get a pair of pants?

All I wear now are underarmour golf pants. Super comfortable, fine for anything business casual, and low maintenance. Just pull them out of the dryer and put them on.

Carhartt can be extremely frustrating because of inconsistent sizing even with the same type and size pants. One might be just right and then another same type pair is too small.

I’ve started wearing Lee extreme motion blue jeans to work in. They are awesome and have a ton of movement in them and are very comfortable. Their khaki pants are just right too.

Carhart shirts are a disgrace. I don't know who they were cut to fit but it wasn't human beings.

Nope, it's a life hack if you have to go into the office every day. Don't knock it until you've tried it.
Ok. Office. I get it. I was thinking REAL WORK pants, like something that would hold up around barbed wire, oil and grease would wash out of. Neshoba county red dirt wouldn't stain forever, etc. The mention of Carhart and Duluth fire hose pants threw me off.

Second this - about five years ago I bought some ATG or similar wrangler hiking pants with the zip cargo pockets. Have not worn jeans to outside work since. Have about 6 pair of the wranglers now. And they double well as casual work / church attire if not stained and dirty .

The Haggar work to weekend khaki’s were a blessing in disguise. I see you don’t like the expandable waste pants though. Sounds like a problem you knew to get over.

I bought a pair of Amazon basics blue jeans the other day for 10 bucks. Fit well. Let’s see how they hold up in the wash.

The new Rural King store in Columbus (think Tractor Supply on steroids) has their own brand of jeans for $11.00. I've been tempted to try one pair, don't look bad at all but will they split down the rear azz seam the first time you bend over is the real question.
