Congratulations to Cherokee!! Three peat Champions. To me this was more like a light practice than it was a game.

True...pamlico scored four pts entire second half....shame Cherokee called off the dogs so early...I was hoping we would win by 100...I meen it's the championship game I say who cares about being humble.

That Cherokee team was flat out relentless, I mean it was like Pamilco was playing 5 on 12 at times LOL
They shoot well, run the court well, rebound well, great passing, great spacing.. Just running non-stop

And this was against a team that had lost 1

I looked at Cherokees schedule they just beat down teams one score was like 105-7 or something like that

All gas and no breaks makes for fun basketball to watch. They have beat teams that bad for 3 years straight

Lion, they are even more impressive to watch in person which I have had the pleasure to see myself a few times. They literally can run any team at any level into the ground they never seem to get tired, All hands defense. As you might know, Ive seen and even covered a LOT of girls basketball games, but I have never seen a team quite like this GWY squad. Tall, thick, quick as cats, and play as physical as the game allows. I saw their first game of the season against 5A Franklin, which is a solid team. I think the halftime score was 50-8. and got worse even with a running clock. I predict they wont be quite as dominant next year with the graduation of Dvdaya Swimmer, but they will be still a formidable opponent for anybody.

They will definitely miss swimmer but they bring back alot...with what bishop and queens grant graduates they should win the 2a title again probably easier than this year

That may well be true. As for Pamlico County, while not intending offense to them, if they had played in the SMC they likely wouldnt have made the playoffs at all. Lots of good teams in that conference, although nobody noticed because all eyes were on Cherokee. Andrews was good, Robbinsville made the title game in 1a, Murphy, Hayesville, Hiwassee Dam, even Highlands were respectable in the little SMC. All with winning records.

The bench is gonna be taking a step back this year with the first two off the bench graduating also this year and last years team will probably be the best Cherokee will have for a long time

I agree they won't be as good as the past two seasons...I was just saying neither will bishop or queens grant which were the only 2a teams with a realistic chance of beating them

Im guessing east Wilkes might be there best 2a game in playoffs next season. Good news bench players has had plenty of opportunities to play by being up 40 at halftime all the time.

I was thinking if they took the 12 best players in the entire eastern bracket, gave them a month to practice if the result would have been any different vs Cherokee? There are at least a couple of players on the JV team at Cherokee that will be ready to contribute next year, but not as dominant as the current crop of Braves. I expect Austin FourKiller-Raby and Cambry Stamper to step it up next year as well. If you look at the SC game you can see they have potential.

East is terrible I watched the final four games and all four teams looked horrendous...pamlico was the best of the worst lol
