As Creighton coach? Gary Cohen offered that up near the end of the broadcast.

I will go with No. He has said they will accept an invitation to the crown or NIT.

One of the best coaches in the Big East in recent times.

But no under .500 team deserves a tourney bid. Although I'm sure it will come.
What tourney do you think Creighton is in consideration for?

If it was me, none. But I was just responding to the previous post.

I have a ton of respect for McDermott and I would hate to see him coach his last game in the present environment with this team.

He should have been T'd up yesterday. Doesn't matter how great a coach he is, you can't be allowed to do that.

Providence and Creighton are the next two highest NET rated teams in the conference and both below .500

if I am not mistaken the BE contractually gets their two highest NET ranked teams left over spots in the CROWN, regardless of overall record.

SHU will accept if they do not Dance.
As we should with where we are as a program currently. And I think the kids will play, because in this era, it is another chance to show what they can do. There is the old saying that when a NFL team is playing out the stretch without a chance at the playoffs, guys still play their a$$es off typically because it is another chance opportunity to “improve your tape”.

I don't know because I don't think anyone bases anything on one game. How can you? We see outlier one-game wins, losses, performances, etc, all the time. Now if a player strings together a decent sample size in a row, that's a different story.

Ugh! I’d rather start working on next year’s roster. No reason to play meaningless basketball games in April
One, I'm not sure we have a choice. Two, it is not meaningless for the program is there is the ability to get some money (although I don't know how much or what the conditions of that are). Three, most of the players are incentivized to play hard because it is "tape" that can be used for programs to evaluate them in this insane era of free agency.

I think I heard somewhere $300k. Not sure that’s accurate but there is some $$$.

I guess they changed their minds. Probably had to pay their own way out there.

When your AD tells you they will accept you post the info.

No one could have foreseen the players would change their minds. Especially after saying that they would play further after the loss to SJU.

Take your potshots elsewhere.

I’m just confused as to why there was thoughts we’d accept in the first place. We have a decent number of players with no eligibility left. And whether they are looking to play in Italy, Poland or China; why would they risk an injury to affect possible future income.

Then we have our good players (Clark and Hines) who I’m sure are being told to wait and see the NIL offerings, so why would the risk it. That said, I know Clark mentioned he wanted to keep playing but who knows if he changed his mind.

Then you have guys who are probably happy it’s over and can rest and not practice.

I don’t see many scenarios in the future where a majority of players vote to play in something like the crown without a true significant, guaranteed personal payout.

For one
Clark and Staton McCray said it after the St John's game.

I also think having to wait around for two weeks before playing could have been a factor. Did the players know this when they said they wanted to continue playing?
