Idk about that. In his 2 seasons at ark he’s been very mid. Losing record in sec first season and barely top 25 this season with very good talent. Lots of better options. Besides we got a better coach right now and he’s not cutting it, so why downgrade?
very simple....UK made Cal rich AF and he literally didn't care.....then he got his feelings hurt and got fired and rejuvenated himself and now he is at Arkansas.

This is a classic Cal team. Loaded with talent, best backcourt in the country. It will be hard for him to screw this up, but they become susceptible when they go to stall ball the last 4 minutes if they get the lead. It's just a matter of whether he has guys who can make a play as the shot clock expires -- and he just might.

I supported Cal long after most gave up on him. I kept saying that all coaches have bad seasons and even excused the loss to St Peters since they went on to beat a pretty good Purdue team. When he lost to Oakland, I decided it was time for him to go. I really don't think he would have gotten better had he stayed. For whatever reason Cal found his mojo when he changed jobs. Sometimes a change in scenery does that.

Conveniently not mentioning that Duke had just won a title 2 years before Lehigh, made the Elite 8 in 2013, and won a title year after that Mercer loss. Not the same at all.
Also, it's not a fluke when you blow tourney games 3 years in a row (people forget Kentucky was up late against Kansas State in 2023 too).

A good AD would have figured out how to get Cal out of his funk and back to old Cal. I feel like Cal was in semi-retirement here the last 5 yrs. Won the NCAA , inducted into the Hall of Fame, lifetime contract and felt he had accomplished all he needed to. Barney should have figured out a way to fire him back up, like build the practise facility and name it after him. But NOooooooooooo….Mitch ends up not even speaking to Cal for YEARS.

I mean you can just google it. Self has never won one tournament game in 4 years. Even if they get upset in the first round this year, it would be 2 in 4 years, and he won the title the year before that. Roy never did it either, his last two years he missed the tourney and got beat first round and retired. K was there a million years, maybe it happened in the 80s or something idk. I don't give a **** about Nova, not a blue blood.
