Previous actions are a strong indicator of
future behavior and performance, often considered the best predictor because human behavior tends to be consistent over time. That’s why you don’t hire someone for any job that hasn’t shown promise or potential. All thee of these guys had won at least their conference title before. Pope was 77-56 at Utah Valley, a smaller conference with less competition.

Calipari made it abundantly clear that he did not care about the conference tournaments.

I agree, but I said conference title. Not conference tournament. Pope hasn’t ever even sniffed a regular season title which is much more important. Do you think Florida really cares they lost? Maybe, but since they won the regular season, still gonna be a top seed in the NCAA. Conference tournaments are fun for fans but I get the issue. Three games in three days and you have 3 days rest to travel and play a NCAA game on a Thursday. If I had a title contender, I wouldn’t love them either.

Everyone knows it takes at least 15 years before you can judge a coach. Pope is the 2nd coming of John Wooden. Just have to give him a ton of time to learn

This just shows that Pope should have had success at Kentucky in his first two years. It's a new era. Success can come in year one with NIL.

Maybe we make a run in the tournament (it's not impossible) and our opinions will change, but it would take a deep run to make me feel even slightly better.

May for Michigan, Calipari for Arkansas and Byington for Vanderbilt. If you include Odom for Virginia who made it his first year, that’s pretty darned impressive for the young guns. Although we know Cal isn’t a young buck anymore!
Very impressive observation !!

But injuries,Cal left him nothing,he's a great guy who struggled likely Hurley or Coach K did early. Whatever excuse works these days.
All of the coaches mentioned in the OP dealt with injuries lollololol.

Poeple have really set themselves up with the excuses. They don’t look around they pay no attention.

No, Mark is what his TWELVE YEAR record says he is. It’s called a sample size. Guess some never took a basic stats course.
