I truly believe program should target kids that shot 45% or better at the njcaa level and any low/mid majors rising sophomore junior or seniors that made an average of 3 3 pt fg per game this season.

I also believe they should target Div II players that would be junior or senior that shot 40% while making atleast 2.5 3pt fg per game

Also need to be able to craft play designs, misdirection and away from the ball action to get them the ability to take the shots.

If the above is not exhausted they are not trying to make the program better and think outside the box.

Also Budd Clark needs to make 500 3s a day each workout day in the offseason from the 5 primary shooting areas above the arc. Can't have a high level PG shooting under 25 percent from there.

Yeah, PJ cornered the market on that back in the day. Billy Packer during the game versus Duke or Michigan criticized PJ for bringing in kids from overseas. But he said it was within the rules.

There’s only 22 Div II players shooting better than 40% from 3 that are not seniors.

I'll never understand the fascination with bringing in someone from outside the program to provide instruction for skills like shooting. Why then the need for 4 assistant coaches?
How many were diminutive point guards who can shoot the three with a career 35% with his senior year at 38%?

Did you tell the uconn staff the same when barrett worked with kemba the offseason going into kemba's final season with uconn?

With our budget and two high-ticket players we need to retain in Clark and Hines, you have to mine the mid-majors and lower for these things.

I wouldn't expect anything drastic to change too much in how Sha approaches offense, but he needs to figure something out. We're pulling a dead weight here. Beyond shooters another area that suffered on offense was the 4-spot. We were so outmatched most of the time with Fisher and Rivera that it also clogged the offense.

This year we finished 302nd in 2PT%, 333rd in 3PT%, 363rd in % of points from 3. This is insane.

Last year we finished 358th in 2PT%, 316th in 3PT%, 323rd in % of points from 3. This was also insane.

That’s why the response to a potential pay increase request should be a respectful no and an immediate question of “whats your plan to get better on offense”. There’s no excuse for his offenses to be this bad (no not even NIL excuses that level of mediocrity).

Something needs to change there in a major way.

Well, what we pay Sha depends on how the market assess him really. In this day and age of NIL and RS, the outside world looks at what he's accomplished here with our limited resources as great coaching. They look at it that he is choosing a style that could be successful at schools like St. Peter's and Seton Hall by getting less-talented players and playing this style is my guess. I mean the guy was just declared unanimous BE COY for it.

He's 0-4 getting to the NCAAT and only 1-4 at the BET. We know the offense needs to improve to get to the next level here.

Everyone agrees him and the school were not prepared for NIL and the 7-25, 2-18 last year shows that. That's the outlier with a one-time roster. The other 3 seasons he's 63-40, 33-27 is more reflective of him as a coach. We've been this close now twice for the NCAAT in his 4 seasons. Frustrating. He's not that far off; just need to get up another slot.

2022-23: 17-16, 10-10, KP #58
2023-24: 25-12, 13-7, KP #50
2024-25: 7-25, 2-18, KP #204
2025-26: 21-12, 10-10, KP #51

Also from JuCo I would seek players from Denmark Technical College, think VMI when Gonzo scheduled that one

If Seton Hall made one more 3-point shot per game, they would have shot 37% from 3 as a team.

On a positive note now that we are not going to the dance Sha and his coaches and look at all the players in the dance and not in the dance that they want to bring on board next year. They don't have to prep for the next game. At least not for awhile.

Your last paragrah about a plan is spot on. I like to use real world sports analogies here particulary the NY Giants. I remember after Bill Parcells went 3-12-1 with the Giants and George Young was looking to move to Howard Snellenberg as coach he asked Parcells what is your plan to turn this around. He said Parcells presented one of the best plans he had ever seen. There has to be plan to get better on offense by Sha.
