This team is not good defensively, does not run the bases well, & pitching after the weekend starters is an adventure. They need to score 6-8 every SEC game to win.

Meh, I actually think we are about to go on a tear. Four of our next six series are at home, and the two road series are South Carolina who stinks and Ole Miss who I think we match up well with.
We opened with either our toughest or second toughest road series that we’ll have all year and still did the bare minimum of salvaging a game on the road. We’re gong to be fine.

It is possible that Arkansas & Texas finish 1/2 in the league, but it is also possible that MSU is 1-4 against teams with a pulse. MSU had every opportunity to win this series though & a road series win @ Fayetteville would have been huge for our postseason resume.
No need to melt down because we lost a series on the road to a top 5 team.

I’d rather hit stride towards the end of the season than the front of season. We are looking great hitting the ball. If we just calm down on defense we are a scary match up. We are a couple mistakes away from being number 1 right now but again be number one at the end of the season not at the beginning.

The biggest issue I saw was giving away 1 run by not blocking the ball and immediately giving up another bc our catcher couldn’t catch a fastball.
Watching Arkansas bullpen in person vs. State’s was eye opening. We have a good team but w/o a solid bullpen you’ll never be great. We will win our share this year but I honestly think we were overhyped.
