Frank Martin calling the rankings "rigged"

I sat within earshot of the South Carolina bench when Martin was a USC. I’ve never heard a more vile human being in my life. Martin abused his players with obscenities that would make a rapper blush. I’m no snob when it comes to cussing but I’d never let my kid be referred to as MF’er continuously. Frank Martin can go to hell.

He pulls out one quote (and in the video he answered Frank like he’d only heard that quote) that seems to tell a very different story than what Frank ultimately said.
Frank said the little schools figured out how to use the RPI to rig tournament selection in their favor. So in response the big conferences went to the NET using an initial weighting system that rigs tournament selection in favor of the big conferences.
Kind of crappy either way you slice it. But if we have to have it rigged I’d rather not have it rigged so that fifteen strong P4 schools get screwed out of tourney berths every single year—which is exactly what we had in the years leading up to the NET takeover.

Gonzaga plays in the WCC and has no issues to consistently have high NET rankings lol.
It's not bias to a specific conference. It does just the opposite..........if you are a very good team playing in a smaller conference, you just have to win by more points. If anything it puts teams on a level playing field.

In fact, if there's anything I've learned in all these years of seeding with this NCAA tournament it's that humans absolutely stink at figuring out what to do with these smaller conference teams. That's always where the difference is on the bracket matrix project. The most differences of opinion.
Power conferences is easy. You have more reference points.
If a team is 10-0 vs Q1 teams.........they are probably very good and should be seeded nicely
If you are 0-10 vs Q1 teams.......you've not shown any ability whatsoever of beating a good team

NET can evaluate these teams way better.
If the NET was available back in 2017 there's not a chance in hell Wichita St is our 10 seed. Talk about a massive misseeding. NET would have put them wayyyyyy higher. And although we beat them, we barely beat them.
UCLA was our 3 seed that year..........we beat them by double digits.
No Frank...........NET works.
